Calificado en Estados Unidos el 10 de febrero de 2025Estilo: 11.0 inCompra verificadaWow, what a simple design yet such a great tool. Works as advertised, makes it much easier to pull nails, even if you have to pull them through instead of out. Recommended.

Calificado en Estados Unidos el 26 de agosto de 2017Estilo: 11.0 inCompra verificadaI bought these to use in tearing down an old house. The house was full of old ship-lap lumber in the walls, teardrop wood siding, tongue and groove ceilings and floors, etc. that I am using in my house remodel. What isn't used will be sold for reclaimed wood to other folks with similar projects. This kind of aged lumber is valuable, but anyone that's ever gutted an old house knows how difficult it can be to get the wood out without tearing it all to pieces. A cats paw-type pry bar and framing hammer is what I was using at first. That leaves gouges in the wood, is more likely to chip out, and is not very fast.
With these specialty pliers I can pull down a board and have all of the nails out in a couple of minutes, with much less damage to the wood than with any other tool I've tried. They just work. If any part of the nail is sticking out 1/16" of an inch or so, it's coming out. It does a much better job and can get to nails that a framing hammer or even a thin pry bar can't. And it doesn't mar the wood nearly as much either. You still have some tear-out around some of the nail holes, but that is to be expected with nails and wood that have been in place for 80+ years. It's less tear-out than with the other tools I was using. These pliers paid for themselves in the first 10 minutes in just the lumber saved and cut the time in half of pulling and de-nailing a board.

Calificado en Estados Unidos el 24 de septiembre de 2024Estilo: 11.0 inCompra verificadaThe 11" nail puller is one of several nail-pulling devices I have. If it's the right tool then it works well very fast. For larger nails with more gripping power I switch to the crow bar. For embedded nails I'm using a cats paw or the Crescent 56NP sliding joint nail puller. The 56NP can be a tricky to operate ... there's a learning curve with the 56NP. I'll do several nails super fast, then I'll get hung up on one where it takes me several attempts to get the jaws around the head of the nail. But the tool is great.

Calificado en Estados Unidos el 27 de octubre de 2024Estilo: Nuevo estiloCompra verificadaBeefy unit (I bought the new model). I am using it to remove spiral nails from disassembled pallets. Takes some technique: best to slap hammer all nails to help break the rust from the wood and nails. Pull slowly, especially on dense oak rails. If one yanks, you'll actually cut off the heads and make more difficult. I have found there are nails that just won't come out (and wish the bar was longer). I just discard those to avoid nail-saw damage. Again, works! It still can be a strenuous effort at times.

Calificado en Estados Unidos el 19 de abril de 2025Estilo: Nuevo estiloCompra verificadaIt is a little different. Need to make sure that you let the tool do the work and do not drive it into the nail with the jaws closed. It will take a nibble of wood to get to the head of a set nail.
I have found that it pulls both nails and staples out straight. You really can re-use the nails - they really pull straight if you do it right. Weak , corroded nails will cut through without chipping the edge of the jaws.
Photos of chipped jaws in the other reviews? No idea how that could happen with correct use.
It is one of several tools to use, not necessarily for every nail that one may encounter in the world.

Calificado en Estados Unidos el 4 de abril de 2025Estilo: 11.0 inCompra verificadaI bought a new stereo system, and set it up in my LR. It is wall-to-wall carpeting, with cove molding baseboard around it.
It was too tight to try to pry the carpet away from under the baseboard to jam the speaker wire under it, , and that could have ruined and scrached the baseboard with whatever mini-pry tool I used. After removing the 4 10-ft pieces, I planned to re-use them, but at 1/8 inch higher, as a channel for the speaker wire.
I knew I could slowly pry the baseboard away from the wall by jamming a very flat chisel or knife between it and the wall, slowly twisting/prying it all along, a few inches at a time. The problem was how to the get the 2 1/2 inch bent finishing nails out, without scuffing and scratching the smooth face of the baseboard by using a small pry bar etc., with tape or fabric against the front of it so it wouldn't scratch.
Well, I found this modified pliers tool, where one uses the pliers to hold the bent nail near the bottom that is sticking out the BACK of the baseboard, and then push it downward, using the "roll bar" , built into the pliers. One tight, slow push down on the pliers, while squeezing the nail, and VOILA! the intact bent nail came through the INSIDE face of the baseboard!
So, no worries about scratching the baseboard, and by probing the area, it was easy to find the exact hole that was already there. That hole may not exactly match up with the one in the sheetrock, but that should not be a big problem.
A couple of tips:
---This will only work with finishing nails, or brads.
---The new nail you'll use often fits into that hole without being loose. If it is a little loose, just go up to the next thickness. That will keep it tight, and not be such a difference it might cause a hairline, or larger, crack.
---Before clamping the pliers on the bent nail, bend the nail a little in the same direction the pliers will be pulling it out, just push with a finger if its a longish nail, or tap it with a hammer if it's a short nail .This makes it a lot easier to keep the ppliers tight as you squeeze it, and then pull the nail out.
---The pictures on Amazon help, but there is a short youtube video not on Amazon, under "Apex Tool Group" "Crescent Nail Puller Video".
Enjoy!

Calificado en Estados Unidos el 14 de noviembre de 2024Estilo: ClásicoCompra verificadaI had to remove my basement stairs for a renovation. They have been in place for almost 40 years. I intended to re-install them after the reno so minimizing the collateral damage was important. I remember using one of these many years ago when I was helping a friend restore an old home and was happy to find it here. This thing works great! Minimal damage to the surrounding wood, and really grips old stubborn nails. Anyone who has used one of these knows, but to any newbies, it is very easy to pinch the skin near the base of your hand. Just be careful, it is really a great tool.

Graham GoodenoughCalificado en Canadá el 10 de mayo de 20215.0 de 5 estrellas One of the best nail pullers ever made
Estilo: ClásicoCompra verificadaArrived on time but packaging was broken open. Used one of these nail pullers when I was 18 years old, now in my 60's and using them again. Quality has not changed in 40 plus years and are just as solid now as they were then. Best nail puller I have ever used and without causing too much damage to the surrounding wood. They pull nails of any size, shape and even without heads. I have a deck to repair this spring and have to pull a lot of nails, but with the price of lumber right now, I have to save as many 2 X 6 X 8 boards as I can and this definitely will do the job with no issues. Well worth the money spent and would definitely recommend to anyone.

Amazon CustomerCalificado en Canadá el 10 de agosto de 20245.0 de 5 estrellas The Great Crescent Nail Puller
Estilo: Nuevo estiloCompra verificadaThis is an amazing tool, my Father had one when I was a boy and I was exposed to using it early in my young life. I always said I would buy one someday. This tool is not hard to use and it is very strong and works great. I have put it through the test and it's amazing. I've read a lot of reviews of people trying to use this Crescent Nail Puller. A Lot of them are complaining about its functionality, to be honest it functions just fine. The first time I used it, I drove a 3½ Nail in a 4x4 pressure treated post just slightly below the the wood and extracted it pretty easily. Its like everything else it dosent work by itself. My last words are for the people who are having issues with this Puller. It's ok to be stun, but it's not very handy!! Hahaha 🤪😆
