The first time I ordered, it arrived broken in several pieces. I returned it and reordered. The second time using it, like many others, I heard a loud pop in the oven (350 degrees). Sure enough, there is a hairline crack running the entire width of the dish. I won't be using it again. I'm very disappointed in the quality. Especially for the price. Perhaps Le Creuset only strives for quality in regards to their signature product, the french (dutch) ovens. I really had high hopes for this dish. It's beautiful, but if this is a common problem, it should be recalled and reinvented. It shouldn't crack so easily.
Pyrex dishes may not be as attractive, but they do the job. That's what I get for prioritizing pretty.

What a wonderful piece of cookery. This is the first piece of Le Creuset Stoneware I've ever used or purchased. Simply amazing. I've used Pyrex and Corningware. While both are fine products, Le Creuset is in my opinion on another level and well worth the premium prices. It cooks food evenly with no "hot spots" which can lead to burning or overcooked areas on the cooking contents. This is a piece of stoneware. So, while being extremely heavy and well made, it can be chipped or broken if mishandled. Which may be the reason for so many mediocre reviews. I totally recommend this brand and product.

This is a very pretty and versatile dish. I love the color. The size is right for my household--only two of us. I tend to cook at lower temperatures, so it probably will not be tested for high temperatures. It also will not fit in the small freezer section of my refrigerator, so that want be tested either. However, it does fit in my refrigerator for left-overs, and my microwave for reheating. When I reheat, I turn the power down to half power to start with, so the dish heats up gradually. No shock from sudden temperature changes. I had hoped that this dish would fit inside the larger dish which I also bought, but it does not. It cleans very nicely. A nice addition to my kitchen.

This dish cracked the second time I used it - baking chicken at 450. Fortunately, Amazon customer service is excellent, and they refunded my money even though I was past the eligible return window. Will not buy Le Creuset again.

This dish is beautiful and is my gf's favorite. She owned one for many years but she dropped it and it broke so I bought her this one.

The second or third time we baked with it (under 400 degrees) it cracked. By the fifth time it completely broke into thirds. There is no returning it after 30 days. This product is way too expensive to break doing the job it was meant to do. I'm very disappointed.

Made roasted chicken in this dish and the browning ended up all over the handles somehow. Because of the grooves, it was very difficult to get clean. That'd be my only complaint. Otherwise, works great and is a beautiful color.

After the first use, it had a hairline crack all the way around the dish. I used it two more times and I don't see any more cracks besides the first one, but it did chip on the side. I'm afraid to use it. I always thought Le Creuset was a good product but this is my first dish from them and I'm really disappointed.

Yes this dish cracks. I got it at a discount store like Marshalls and now I know why it was discounted. I've used it only with fish at around 475 F. It has large prominent cracks that have developed after weekly use for several months. Now it seems like it will split apart the next time I use it. I will be going back to using a porcelain baking dish instead.
