“Leslie Budewitz has cooked up another exciting and scrumptious mystery with Crime Rib, the second book in her clever new series about small-town chef Erin Murphy, who’s sleuthing skills are matched only by her gourmet cooking. With a well-crafted plot, believably eccentric characters, and a flowing style, Crime Rib is a mystery to be savored. And if that’s not enough, there’s a special selection of Erin’s recipes at the end. Chocolate mousse cups! Mmmmmm.”—John Clement, author of the Dixie Hemingway Mysteries

I enjoy Erin and the fun ensemble of Jewel Bay. She loves her family and the Merc, the family owned mercantile started by her grandfather. She is an advocate for all things local, and appreciates great food. That set of core values really appeals to me.
The mystery is well constructed, and I was guessing till the end. The residents of the town are a wonderful mix of somber, silly, and quirky. There is a wonderful description of the plot of the story above, so I will not repeat it, but I do want to encourage you purchase this book. I believe all cozy readers will enjoy it as much as I did.
After having read all of the Cinnamon and Erin books there is a definite predictability but the environment s in which the stories are set (Pike Place Market in Seattle and Emerald Bay in Montana) I find these cozy mysteries remain enjoyable.
