I had to use this textbook for my Introduction to Criminal Justice class. It is one of the few textbooks I've had that I actually enjoyed reading. It has a lot of information but it isn't dense like some books are so it's very easy to read and understand. I really liked the "Case in Point" boxes that are included in most chapters that highlight major court cases that influenced Criminal Justice. The only downside to the book is that it is a little expense ($100+) especially considering it is only paperback and not very thick. That being said, however, it was worth the price considering how well written and comprehensible the book is.

Most textbooks are written in the same bland, monotonous tone. This one is not. There is a steady stream of information contained in this text, but the author doesn't cram it all down your throat; he gives it to you in doses surrounded by anecdotes and examples. A very easy read.

Great timing and the book was exactly what I needed. There was a little wear and tear to be expected but other than that it was great.
