Edit: If you use a French press, let it brew/steep for 12 minutes before pressing. I wrap my press in a dish towel to hold the heat in. For me personally, (each person will be different, so test for yourself) when I use a French press, I only use one rounded tablespoon per 6 oz of water as opposed to two tablespoons. If this is not strong enough for you, go with the two tablespoons. Also, I have recently discovered that I actually prefer it cold, so I brew up enough to fill a pitcher in the fridge, and drink on it for a few days.
For those who haven't tried and wondering what the taste is like. It tastes really good and chocolate-y. Well, of course, it is where chocolate comes from anyway. Yes, it is gritty and for some they might not like it, but I do. It might take some getting used to. Once you brewed your ground up cacao beans, you will see some oils in your drink, which is normal. It is from the oils of the beans and it is safe to drink. I save up my grounds and throw them in my garden. I am sure you can find other ways to use it with like to use it to exfoliate your skin, and some mixes it with their smoothies, etc. Anyway, it is a great tasting drink and I love it! I don't drink coffee and I don't like to drink hot chocolate all the time either (only once in a blue moon) so this is my healthy choice.
