The book was particularly helpful in my gaining a precise understanding in approaching research and the critical thinking which is a vital part of research as well as other aspects of diversity that is a important role that intergrates into research, in other words the ins and outs of research, a must read book.

I used this text in an undergraduate research course in the behavioral sciences department. Most of the students were juniors. The students complained that the reading level was above their heads and that it wasn't very helpful. Personally, I thought it was well-written and insightful. I would recommend making sure that your students have enough of a research background and high enough of a reading level before selecting this book for a course.

This book is good for any student who is willing to learn the rudiments of critiquing an article. Meltzoff summarizes the important features in a clear way with numerous examples. The only problem is the articles are too short - I wish they were longer in order to give a much more comprehensive critique (but this is not a major problem)!
