- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2020Smith does an excellent job of contextualizing his comments in the current debate about the pedagogy of anti-racism in Rhetoric and Composition, providing the reader with a rich reading list should they wish to explore more of both sides of the main debates on linguistics, standards, empowerment, and appropriate classroom approaches in higher education.
This is a complex topic, and Smith does not shy away from potentially controversial positions on how to best empower students to succeed, not just within Rhetoric and Composition Departments, but in the larger world and social justice movements.
