In my quarter life crisis of turning 25, I panicked and thought I needed a crockpot...for whatever reason. I researched for weeks, and I finally settled on this one. Best. Decision. Ever. I have made several 2-3 pound pot roasts (cooked on low for 8 hours, surrounded with carrots, onions, potatoes, etc. so more than enough room in this crockpot) in this, and they come out perfectly cooked; tender and falling apart every single time (searing beforehand helps, but I can't take too much credit from this machine). I have made a few different soups and pasta dishes in this crockpot as well, and I have never been disappointed with the outcome. I also love the lid that keeps moisture away when you lift up the lid, and the locking mechanisms for traveling with a cooked dish is a great feature you will love having. Very easy to clean, looks great sitting on your counter, and no malfunctions here.

Update 3/7/2016- taking this from five stars to one star. The ceramic insert has hairline cracks all over it. I take impeccable care of this crockpot, and it is essentially useless after just over a year of using it 2-3 times a week. It has leaked juices from what I cook to the outside part that heats the ceramic insert to cook the food, so that can't be safe. I will be looking for a different brand to try, as I can see this is a common issue. It also started to cook very hot, I had made a couple dips and put them on the keep warm setting, and I would come back 20 minutes later to a scorched dip. Very disappointed with this product after a great first few months.

My toddler has elevated lead levels. In speaking with his doctor and the Health Department about possible sources, I was *specifically* cautioned against crockpots and other ceramics made in Mexico and China. I bought this to replace a slow cooker of questionable origin because the listing says it's made in the USA. So, imagine my disappointment when I unpacked it to find a giant "Made in Mexico" sticker on the bottom, and the same thing printed on the box. There's a lot of info available on the lead dangers of imported ceramics. Please do research before buying. If it's a concern for you do not buy this product.

I have only used this item a couple of times, partly due to the "feet" on this thing. There are only 3 feet and therefore is tipsy. The feet are not long enough to have any real messes if your crockpot is not super full but I still hate working with it. Just to even grab one handle to move it one way or another and it tips to that side.

This is a great crock pot. I have overcooked chicken in it though, which was probably my fault. I think there are 2 major improvements to make it 5 star:
1) Make the warm setting a lot cooler...my stuff still bubbles on warm, which means it's definitely still cooking, which means it's hard to truly set it and forget it. It's more set it then make sure someone's around to unplug it when it's done cooking...
2) Find a way to make the ceramic insert entirely inside the base unit and lid. I've gotten a 2nd degree burn by accidentally bumping into one the ceramic dish's edge while it was cooking on the countertop. Many people who needs these have families and young children (me included) and kitchens where it's difficult to completely keep the crock pot out of arms reach of those young children. The ceramic edge being scalding hot is a danger. Basically every slow cooker/crock pot on the market has this issue. If someone...say the originators of the Crock Pot...could solve for this dangerous problem they'd definitely get many, many, many more buys from all of us worried parents who are trying to keep our kids out of the ER.

I love the way the crockpot cooks and I like all the features. I have nothing to complain about regarding the unit itself.

There is one thing about it that I dislike very much - there is a handle attachment on the bottom of the lid that has a screw and a small hole on the other side. When I wash the lid, water gets into the hole, and when I put in the drainer to dry, it leaks water from that space for days.

I've had to resort to unscrewing the handle, wiping down all the water, and re-attaching the handle. It's ridiculous that I have to do this.

I shopped for a different crockpot by the same brand to see if the other lids were the same, and they are. Why isn't anyone else complaining about this besides me?

My old manual crock pot was dying, so it was time to upgrade. I've wanted a programmable crock pot for years. This came very quickly; it got here around 8 pm on the 2nd day after I ordered it. I started using it the next day. I cooked almost frozen chicken. I put it on for 8 hours on low. When it hit 8 hours it automatically switched to warm. It kept the chicken meal-like warm, so it didn't need to be heated any more once we were ready to eat. I used it again the next day and programmed it for 4 hours on high. I let it shift to warm for awhile. It had a slight smell when I first used it, but it wasn't enough to bother me. Once it starts getting cooler, I'll use it more often during the week so I can have a hot comforting meal ready when I get home from work. Also, whereas my old crock pot would steam up so much that water would drip over the sides, this one doesn't do that. The handles do feel kind of flimsy, but I don't plan on carrying my full crock pot anywhere anyway. The ceramic pot fits loosely in the crock, but it's not a problem for me since I just leave it on the counter while cooking. Also, one other thing I loved... My old crock pot would burn the food onto the sides of the pot. I was so excited to use this the first time that I forgot to use a liner. It didn't burn! The hardest part of cleaning it was getting it over to the sink and filling it was soap and water!

This crock pot has served me well the last year or so, however there is one small issue. I don't really like the lid. Those snaps at either side? They're held in with cheap plastic that looks almost like a rivet at the bottom of the lid. Those broke quickly, and now those snaps twirl around and there are additional little holes through which moisture pass.

A solid glass lid without those snaps at either end would make this an excellent product with a fifth star.

One of the best I've had! It's easy to program, to clean and looks great on the counter. I would definitely recommend this to a medium sized family. If you want to cook for a large group, this would be rather small and you might have to use 2 to get the quantity you need but for our family of 3 it's perfect! It came earlier than expected, was packaged well and no problems with vendor.

Two things I'm not happy with; after heating up on HIGH for a couple of hours and turning down on low, it was fine. However, when food was done and I turned from LOW to KEEP WARM, the food kept right on bubbling and the crockpot felt just as hot on keep warm as on low. The 2nd thing is, if the power goes out or you have a surge and the crockpot loses power, it does NOT come back on. I didn't realize that until about 2 hours AFTER we'd had the power go off for just a second. Other crockpots I've had would come back on when power came on. Other than those two things, I like it.

Not sure how it cooks yet but be careful when putting much weight on the top edges as it doesn't take allot to make the pot tip to the front sides or back due to the 3 bottom posts that are like short 3/4" feet. While it won't tip far before the bottom outside edge hits, it's enough to spill if there is water within 2" of the top. This design lacksCrock-Pot SCCPVL610-S 6-Quart Programmable Cook and Carry Oval Slow Cooker, Digital Timer, Stainless Steel good stability and in some cases could tip, spill and make a mess.
