Crock-Pot 6-Quart Slow Cooker with Stovetop-Safe Cooking Pot
Enjoy the versatility you want with the convenience you need, thanks to this innovative slow cooker
Because many slow-cooker recipes require a two-step process--browning/searing meat on the stovetop before slow cooking to seal in flavors, often times you end up with more than one dirty pot to scrub clean. For the ultimate one-pot solution, the Crock-Pot brand designed a stovetop-safe pot that moves from stovetop to slow cooker in one smooth move.
Sear then Slow Cook
Sear meat for a crispy outside and juicy flavor inside. Saute onions and peppers before adding to soup. With the slow cooker's double-duty removable cooking pot, you can brown, sear, or saute ingredients directly on the stovetop before placing the pot into the slow cooker to finish cooking. No need to dirty unnecessary extra pots or pans along the way. Two steps. One pot. No problem.
Stovetop-Safe DuraCeramic Cooking Pot
The slow cooker's removable cooking pot features a DuraCeramic nonstick coating, which prevents food from sticking, helping to ensure effortless food release and quick cleanup. The durable nonstick coating is also scratch-resistant for long-lasting, high-quality performance, as well as PTFE and PFOA free for healthier cooking and peace of mind. The pot's oval shape fits larger roasts and cuts of meat, while its glass lid helps trap in heat and moisture and allows for at-a-glance viewing of the cooking process. For added convenience, the pot's integrated side handles make it easy to lower and lift the pot in and out of the heating base for graceful transitions from stovetop to cooker to tabletop for serving.

One Pot Does It All
Double-duty cooking pot for browning, searing, or sauteing prior to slow cooking.
Slow cooker with digital 20-hour countdown cooking timer.
One-pot meal prep--from stovetop, to slow cooker, to table.
Digital Control Panel with Countdown Timer
Whether searing meat first or simply cooking up a large batch of chili, the appliance's user-friendly control panel makes slow cooking a snap. To begin, press the Select button to choose between high or low temperature settings. An indicator light will show the current high or low temperature setting. Next, press the Timer arrows to scroll through the cooking time options (increments of 30 minutes, up to 20 hours). Once set, the timer will begin counting down the minutes in one-minute increments. After the set cooking time has elapsed, the slow cooker will automatically switch over to Keep Warm mode and a Keep Warm indicator light will illuminate.
Once cooled, the slow cooker cleans up easily. Wipe down the heating base's exterior with a damp cloth and place the glass lid in the dishwasher. Though dishwasher-safe, washing the slow cooker's removable cooking pot by hand is recommended to preserve its ceramic coating.

One of the best features of this crockpot is the fact that it switches over to a "warm" setting after the food has been fully cooked - I cooked some beef short ribs and the low simmering that the recipe called for made the "warm" function ideal for it. After 8 hours, the ribs were soft, juicy and wonderfully tender.
I also liked the fact that it has a glass lid, which allows me to see how my food is doing.
However, note that the interior of the pot is coated with DuraCeramic nonstick coating. Initially, I was not happy to hear this – I tend to avoid nonstick anything because studies have shown that a chemical called polytetrafluoroethylene can emit fumes that can kill small birds and affect humans in the long-term. In addition, nonstick products often must be cleaned by hand, since the dishwasher may be too rough with it.
I was relieved to see that this crockpot has a nonstick coating that's PTFE and PFOA free, as well as scratch resistant. This is good news for all of us out there who are hesitant to use nonstick. Still, the manufacturer recommends handwashing of the interior, to keep the coating intact.
Overall, this is an excellent crockpot and I'm glad I can take advantage of the easy cleanup that nonstick cookware offers without the worry.
I love this slow cooker. I've had several through the years and this once functions better than any of them.
1. The ability to brown foods in the same vessel used for the slow cooker is awesome. It's so convenient, and I don't lose any of the flavorful browned bits that sometimes get left behind when food is browned in a separate pan.
2. The non-stick coating makes clean up a breeze. In particular, I make overnight oatmeal in mine at least once a week. In my other slow cookers, the morning clean-up was a hassle. No matter how much I sprayed, buttered, or oiled the inside, I still had to battle burnt on oatmeal the next day. With this non-stick slow cooker, I don't even have to spray it. It is a breeze to wipe clean the next day with zero oatmeal stuck to the sides.
3. It cooks very evenly. My previous slow cookers have had hot spots where food was more likely to burn and stick--not this one.
CON--there's only one. I've handwashed mine--it's never been in the dishwasher, and I'm gentle with it. My only concern is that after only 5 months of use, the non-stick coating had started to come off on the outer rim. (I've added a photo of the rim.) Mind you, the coating on the inside that comes in contact with the food is still fine. But, I'm worried that the non-stick coating isn't going to hold up, given how quickly it started to come off of the rim area. Time will tell.
