Then an Oriental station with Stir Fry, Fried Rice, Wanton Soup and Lo Mein or a taco bar complete with meats, rice, beans and toppings. You can get as creative as you wish! This set features all 3 units: one 3.5-quart slow cooker, one double 1-quart slow cooker and one 2-quart slow cooker. High, Low and Warm settings provide cooking options to accommodate your party needs. Removable stoneware and lids are dishwasher-safe. Units stack for easy storage.

When I have a big family meal, I have at least ten people as many as twenty. I find these units are perfect for the crowd of ten, if I had more I would want more units. For a recent meal for ten I was able to fit roasted fingerling potatoes for ten in the 3.5 qt unit (and my family loves their potatoes so probably more than most would make). In the 2.5 qt I put green beans for the crowd and in the 2 smaller units I put gravy with the prime rib on a warmed platter on the table.
First thing I will comment on is the set up. The plug releases only on the right side. I would have preferred a plug in the back for neutral position. I ended up having to shift the table a bit and change the outlet I planned on using to accomodate the right sided plug. Hence why I gave four stars for poor design of the plug position.
That being said, I love everything about the unit! Lets start with the plug...you can pull it out and push it back in within the unit. What I really like is that is doesn't have a retractable feature...they always seem to break. The cord nestles within the unit and with little pushes it easily goes inside and then the plug locks into place...nice...
The other units use their plugs to connect each other...I thought they would snap into place, they don't which made me think they wouldn't connect properly or be easily disconnected but the units worked just fine.
Three temperature settings! Remember, this isn't just a warmer, it's a crockpot...this makes for a lot less work and less dishes and pans. You can put your frozen veggies in one of these units, place on high to cook and then switch to warm. This saves me room on the stove and less pots to wash. I like soups with my meals and I often make them in advance. This unit allows me to put the refrigerated soup right in the crock and warm it up on high then switch to warm. Again less pots to wash and more space on the stove. The crocks are oven safe so you can make a casserole right in the crock and go from oven to warmer! I don't see you being able to put more than two small bags of veggies in each of the small crocks, so for my crowd of ten it won't work but for smaller crowds it would. I loved using both crocks for gravy...it saved me from having to run back in the kitchen for refills. I also seeing it being a great unit for fondues...two different cheese fondues or white and dark chocolate...
I found that with the attaching units my buffet table had a ton more room which impressed me and because the crocks have a cutout for serving spoons, I did not feel the need to set out plates to hold the utensils...3 less plates to wash works for me.
At the end of the night the buffet table was just...cleaner. Less spills and mess...maybe because everything was so close together.
The units can be nicely stacked but you MUST read the manual to get it right. The little unit MUST be on the bottom...which looks odd and you think it won't work but it does. You also must invert the lids. Once stacked it was not locked in place, but was much sturdier than I expected it would be.
All in all I really like the set but I definitely see myself getting another 3.5 qt and 2.5 qt unit. I don't see the need to buy another of the smaller double sets. It's nice that you can hook six of these units together. My 3 year old grandson and his 4 year old cousin were running around the buffet table like mad men and with only one cord tucked out of the way, they were completely safe and I breathed a sigh of relief.
I find the price of over $200 too high but I was able to snag this set for about half that, so I feel I got a great bargain.
Clean up seemed to be so much quicker and easier with this set...and they came out sparkling from the dishwasher.
Other than the right-sided plug which wasn't a deal breaker, I just love this set!
