About the Author

David Greenberg was born in Brooklyn, NY, went to Reed College, and lives in the Northwest. He and his wife Susan preside over a recombined family of four, Sam, Evan, Alexandra, and Jane (who has four legs and a tail and will happily eat off the floor or table or even the street itself). With the exception of one historical novel (A Tugging String), David has written poetry picture books exclusively, most with LB, but with FSG, Dutton, and Bantam as well. Titles include, Slugs, Bugs!, Skunks!, Snakes!, Whatever Happened to Humpty Dumpty?, and Enchanted Lions, among many. He is director of the Oregon Coast Children's Book Writers Workshop and Publish a Picture Book, Intensive Online Course. He visits schools nationally and around the world to read from his works and teach writing.

Lynn Munsinger is the illustrator of nearly one hundred picture books, including Bugs!, Skunks!, and Crocs! by David T. Greenberg. She lives in Vermont.

This is a extremely funny and a delight to read outloud. I love the rhyming fun and the great sense of humor. This will be on my favorite children's book list! I'm going to look up the authors other books now to see if they will be on my list!

My grandchildren love silly books with colorful and interesting characters. So do I. As the reader, I think it's almost as important that the adults like the books we buy and read to our little loved ones.

Crocs! by David T. Greenberg was a big hit this weekend. My three- and five-year-old grandsons and even my six-year-old granddaughter loved Crocs! and wanted it read again and again.

Crocs! is the delightful, humorous story, told in rhyme, of the adventure of a little boy leaving the city because of all the 'horrifying critters.' Imagine his surprise when he thinks he's leaving for a much-needed vacation from those troublesome critters and he is invaded by Crocs who assault his little island.

Well, the rest is a madcap adventure with a really big surprise ending. I won't tell you what it is, but the island itself is involved.

Kids are going to love the story and the illustrations add so much to the adventure. I thought my three-year-old grandson might be a bit frightened by some of the pictures, but no, he clapped his hands and yelled 'again!' when the book was finished.

Armchair Interviews says: Crocs! Is a whimsical story that will be requested again and again

While it was in great shape it wasn't mentioned (at least that I saw) that this was/had been a library book. Since it was for a family member it was no big deal. However if this had been a more formal gift it would have been extremely embarrassing, or just unacceptable.
