Just to recap... Shoes good.... combined with sand bad.
Hope this review helps others.
I have had these for a couple of weeks now and LOVE these Crocs! Went to Lake Erie this past weekend and found out they make great boat shoes. spent about 2 hours on a 27 foot fiberglass fishing boat with wet decks and gunwales and not even close to a slip the entire time. Also spent half of that day walking around South Bass Island in 90 degree humid, rainy weather and they were more comfy than running shoes. These are much cooler than traditional Crocs and while they don't dry quite as fast, my feet don't sweat in them and I don't find them at all uncomfortable at all when they are wet. I also weighed them on my kitchen scales in response to an Amazon question and they weighed in at just over 14oz for the pair.
After reading the reviews, I decided to purchase a size 13, which is obviously one full size smaller than my usual size.
Even at a full size smaller, my foot still had plenty of room on all sides. They are actually a bit too large. Not uncomfortably so, but enough that I'd be concerned about blisters if we were to engage in a long walk in these shoes.
I cannot speak to their durability, as they are still new. But I can say they are so-far comfortable and seem to be well made. I have no issues with the style or function of the shoes and they are otherwise the best I have found so far that fit my feet.
The extra space is a bit troubling, but I'm going to keep them. I may update the review after our next trip to the beach. I don't know, maybe the extra space is to accommodate the black socks American men seem to like to wear with sandals.
That said, they are pretty comfortable, and the sole is easily over an inch thick in some parts. Very well cushioned and great styling. I read in the reviews that these tend to fit large. Do not take that to heart. Although crocks may be a bit wider than the 'norm', these D crocks do not fit well on an E width foot (the length was fine). Hopefully that helpsF!
