So I sent it to Crosley itself for repairs. I got the repaired/replaced player, but I go to use it and every record I play on it, regardless of age, sounds like it hit the martinis harder than Dean Martin--warped and alternating between fast and slow.
So I sent it back again. I very carefully try the replacement they send me, same model of player, and it plays records about 10% too fast right out of the box. Michael Jackson was already a little high anyway, but I compared it to the same song played online and it was definitely too fast, and so was anything else I tried.
So I sent it back. Again. This time tech support told me they would check it at least twice to make sure it doesn't play too fast. Behold, the latest one has the SAME problem very first time I use it--plays at 35-36 RPM instead of 33 (I counted to be sure), and there's no way to fix the darn thing. I'm a patient person and just wanted a working player, but it took an entire summer and three returns to find out this player is just cheaply made, and all it's good for is looking adorably faux-retro. The only thing deserving a star is Crosley's return policy (free returns within warranty and free shipping label), because this record player certainly doesn't. And it is taking up space in my living room now waiting to be returned yet again, for a refund this time. I expected much more from the famous Crosley company. Please don't buy this player. Please?
I would buy it again but maybe if it was $50-$75.
Second product looked fine out of the box. It didn't spin the record. Sent it back but still waiting to be reimbursed for my money.
Product is clearly cheaply made in China. The plastic used reminds me of a Happy Meal toy. More importantly, two times the product shipped did not work at all. I would say it's not worth the price, but frankly, it isn't worth any price because it's simply plastic in the shape of a portable turntable, but not actually one that plays records. 10/10 would never buy anything from Crosley again.

This is a poorly built product. The power switch was wired backwards and the record player sounded like a baby rattler with all the stuff moving around I side of it. Read morePublished 5 months ago by Eric Harvey
Met all expectations. Not high quality, but it works as advertised and as hoped. Our daughter loves it.Published 6 months ago by drawlr
