5.0 out of 5 stars Fun semi-automatic CO2 pistol
By Timster51 on February 13, 2018
This is a really fun pistol! It's my first CO2 and I was worried that it would be a pain to use because Crosman recommends that the CO2 cartridge never be left in the handle once shooting is done. That would mean that I couldn't just go to my basement range and shoot a couple of magazines and come back later without replacing a partially used cartridge. However, after looking at airgun discussion sites I found that lots of owners leave them in with no bad effects at all. The semi-automatic feature is really fun and lets me practice much more easily than taking the Ruger Mark III to the nearest firearms range. I like to put red dot sights on my pistols but had a problem finding the right one to fit on the top rail. There didn't seem to be any specific recommendations out there. I eventually found the Bushnell Trophy TRS-25 Red Dot Sight Riflescope. It fits perfectly and as the photo shows doesn't block the release magazine button. I'm still testing to find the pellets that the gun likes the best but it's a really fun journey.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great buy
By Amazon Customer on October 13, 2015
This is my first bb gun after using airsoft guns, and first Co2 powered gun in general. This is a great buy, don't let the negative reviews deter you (most likely careless handling). Shoots accurately from 40+ ft and shoots hard! I love that I can either use single action (pulling back the hammer for each shot) or double action (pulling the trigger to fire without needing to pull back the hammer for each shot) . I use the BBs (not a fan of pellets) and they decimate any cans or glass bottle targets. The co2 lasts a long while, and despite the Crossman warning against storing the Co2 inside, it can be left for quite a few days if you seal the Co2 in as tight as you can. The body of the gun is metal, with only the barrel and rails attached made out of plastic (the grip that covers the Co2 are plastic as well). Only disappointment is the lack of blowback, though that's not how the gun is supposed to function, so the fault lies in myself. Bottom line is, this is a great buy for anyone who enjoys shooting and great for beginners at using BB guns.

5.0 out of 5 stars The tins cans never stood a chance.....
By Weiand on September 20, 2015
I love the size of it. Has the size / feel of a firearm, just lighter.
The grips being removable to put the cart in doesn't reattach real tight.
Tight enough to not just fall off, but does feel a bit loose when gripping it.
Not loose enough to be a problem or affect shooting, just noticeable.

Not a heavy hitter. Low powered. Low fps.
"Advertised" shows a bit higher fps than the tests I've seen.
Tests on pellets with a 10.5 gr pellet show 409 fps
Won't hit real hard, but sill be a fun plinker.
Tested mine with 7.48 to 8.64's. Until the cart. started to empty, goes through empty soda cans with no problem.
The more shots, the weaker it gets.
I was getting about 30 *good* shots per cart. About 60 - 70 total shots per cart when it would start to lose power.
After about 60, its almost a waste to keep firing on the cart. Less pentration, no accuracy and if try to go to far with the
cart. starts to not have enough power to push the pellet out of the clip and down the barrel.
Don't want a pellet stuck in the barrel.

One BB (6 rounds) and One pellet (10 rounds) clips is included. Having the one that is included has to be filled a lot of times per cart.
Would just make it nicer an more conveinant having 3 or 4 pre-loaded.

Construction of the pistol is pretty good overall.
Metal frame. Steel rifled barrel. Metal trigger. Metal hammer. Cart. tensioner metel cap, metal thread, metal handle into metel.
Plastic grips that snap in and out of place.
(IF the plastic tongs were to break that hold the grip in place, a rubber band wrapped around the grip spanning top to bottom
would hold it in place & tight, as well would not interfier with hand placement and grip)
Poly-type barrel shroud with Weaver upper & lower rails. (Top back & Bottom front)
Plastic BB & Pellet clips.
Metal push button & "hook" into Poly-Type shroud area to keep barrel locked in place.

6 inch barrel. Just under 11 1/2 inches long from muzzle to back of grip. 9 3/4 inches from muzzle to top of hammer.

Being double and single action is a nice feature.
Double action is a lot heavier trigger pull. Not bad, but is heavier. As well, a lot more movement when in double action.
Single action, nice trigger pull. Smooth an easy. No movement.
Hammer pull's back quick an easy to work it in single action rather quickly with a nice trigger pull to make it start all over again.

Cart inserts quite easy.
The tightener is a metal screw in a metal base with a metal grip. So that shouldn't be a problem of wearing out or stripping threads. Very nice touch there.

Accuracy.... well, that will depend on the shooter. Iron sights with up and down adjustments and side to side for windage.

Seems to lock up tight after loading a clip.
Seems the *lock* should hold up if using care when opening and closing it. Like not doing the "groovy" flip it to make it close.

Noise level. The test reviews show 87.5 db's 3 feet from pistol being fired.
Noise level does drop as more shots are fired from the cart.
In all, not all that loud, making it backyard friendly.
(DO remember though, this airgun pistol does have the size & look of an actual firearm. From a distance, could look very real. That combined with some "noise" when fired,
could potentionally be an issue.)

Loading... Push button to release the "hook", barrel breaks down, filled clip rests on a pin. Close barrel. Pistol is ready to fire.
Do need to use a little care to extend the life of the clip by not spining the clip once it is inserted. Would cause premature wear on the detents, which would make it no
longer rotate on its own with each shot.

Very fun pistol to shoot. Either double or single action. Can rapid fire pretty easy with it.

With a bit of care and maintence, this pistol should hold up quite well.
A drop of oil on the tip of each cart. inserted. All pivot points oiled with excess wiped off. Kept clean.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice air pistol. Bad@$$!
By Mr. KIKIN on December 24, 2015
Great air pistol. For the price you get more than what you paid for. Yeah some of the construction is plastic. The grips feel kind of cheap, and its kind of a hassle to install the CO2 cartridge. BUT... the gun is very accurate right out of the box, and it is powerful. I got it to scare alley cats from getting in my trash can and making a mess. Also I killed a possum that was under my truck at about 45 ft distance with one head shot. I added a flashlight and a green dot laser to it. I am very happy with the purchase, it's more powerful than the fancy Gamo pistols. I highly recommend it. I also posted a pic of my setup. All items were purchased here on AMAZON!!!!!!!!!
