The Crosman M4-177 Multi-Pump BB and Pellet Air Rifle is a very realistic and powerful shooter for the money. Lots of fun! My only beef is that weaver bar on the the bottom of the pump grip is useless, adding something like a flashlight or laser on it would hit the barrel when pumping it. I ordered the tan but received the all black. Oh well no big deal on that! I would recommend this rifle because of it's price and it's accuracy. Have fun be Safe.

As a retired soldier, I liked the fact that this was patterned after the M4, and thus very familiar to me. I wanted a pump gun, as break-barrels are hard to keep accurate, and CO2 requires a lot of cartridges. Although it is mostly plastic, it seems very sturdy. I've shot a couple hundred pellets and BBs through it with no mechanical problems. To replicate the guns I used in the Army, I mounted the carry handle and front post sight, and found the sights easy to use and zero. The pump action is fairly easy, and the trigger pull is reasonably light. The pellet clips are easy to load, but the indexing once they are in the rifle is not very exact; you have to feel the stops as the clip is pushed through the breech for each pellet. There are no visual cues to help position the clip, nor can you see the pellets as they are being loaded, despite what the instructions say. Once you get used to the clip feed, however, it becomes second nature, and works every time. Using pellets and a home-made pellet catcher, I zeroed the weapon and found I was able to get a one-inch group at 30 feet with ease. The sights hold the zero, and the rifle is consistently accurate--with pellets. Not so much with BBs. You'll need a small funnel to load the BBs into the main chamber, then shake and twist the gun barrel-down to load the BBs into the feed channel. It all works, but seems pointless due to the poor accuracy. I knew that BBs are inherently less accurate than pellets, but was surprised at the degree of inaccuracy. As I said, with pellets I can easily get one-inch groups at 30 feet, but with BBs I'm lucky to get a ten-inch group. I tried two different brands of BBs, with similar results, so now I only shoot pellets.Read more ›

This little gun is extremely accurate right out of box. I bought this because I love to shoot but ammunition has gotten very expensive and hard to get (thanks obuma, biden and finstein). If you buy bbs in the 6000 pack it only costs .025 cent per shot.Thats 4 shots for a penny! This is powerful as it will go thru an aluminum can at 30 feet. I dont have to go to range to shoot....its quiet enogh yo shoot in my back yard, If yo make a bb trap...you can re use your ammo.

this gun is very good. the fps is great my high on fps was around 590. i dont know why people complain how hard it is to pump seems fine to me. bb never falls out unless removed from the bolt magnet. also works for small game cause i was able to take a phesant with ballistic point pellets from 45 yards away in the eye. and dont buy an 8 year old this for gun safety they have airsoft for that. kids cant pump this barely at all so use red ryder. good gun and came in correct color for me.

I just received mine and I love it. It is very very fun to shoot. I wanted to stay outside with it and shoot all day but when I read the comments about it I had a feeling that I was going to like it. I have my grandpa's bb gun Powerhouse 66 and after shooting that one I knew that I had to get the M4. I like that it is smooth when it fires. And one day I will have to get a scope to put on there and some other stuff to jazz it up some. Right now I am using the Crosman premier hollow point and those are noice.

When I saw the box for this at Walmart, I fell in love.
I also Googled a lot of reviews and YouTube'd a bunch of videos by "experts" on the rifle, and what they say holds true. It's a really fun gun.

First, this may be mostly plastic, but it's SOLID, and feels nice and heavy. (about 5 lbs) And video-game jaded kids will love the look and feel of this plinker.

Modeled on an AR15, this rifle has an adjustable stock (allowing for kids of an appropriate age AND adults to use it comfortably), rifled barrel, 4 Picatinny rails: one above the receiver, one under the hand-guard/pump, and two mini-rails above and below the front of the barrel. It comes with adjustable front & flip-rear sights that can be adjusted for wind age and elevation, and can be removed to add a scope. I purchased a nice simple Swiss Arms 4x32 rifle scope, which works fine for the 50-75 foot range this gun reaches accurately using .177 pellets. The "Magazine" under the receiver is hollow, and is used for storage of the (included) mini-screwdriver for adjusting the sights, and for storing a spare pellet mag-strip.

The Picatinny rails under the barrel and the hand-guard are VERY limited in use, as anything too large will interfere with the pump-action. but a mini-flashlight will fit. (or a bayonet lug? heh... just kidding yer honor)

The rifle is single-action, and after 4-pumps it starts getting kind of stiff, but at 5 pumps I was punching through 4 layers of thick cardboard at 25 feet like a hot knife through butter (the manufacturer recommends that you not exceed 10 pumps). The safety is nicely placed just in front of the trigger, which has a very smooth action. Cycling the bolt back, loading a 5-round .
