Very dependable and accurate readings, batteries last a good length of time. My only issue is with the "connection" to the base unit. The base unit requires batteries (no option for plugging it in) and when the base unit batteries need replacing then all remote sensors need resetting as well - very time consuming.

I ordered this to replace the one I left out in the rain outside and died. The directions tell you not to leave the device in a place where the weather can ruin them (they are not water tight) but I ignored the directions which led to the purchase of this replacement unit. Thankfully it works just fine and I'm back to knowing how to dress for the weather without going outside first!

I have owned several La Crosse Technology weather stations and remote sensors, but never again. This product arrived DOA. The replacement quit in two months. La Crosse Technology quality and reliability has declined dramatically. First
weather station lasted at least 5 years; the next one just past the warranty period. The weather station that I paired with this sensor has also been problematic.

Try to contact customer service and, if your are lucky, after 4 days you will get a canned response from them telling you to change the batteries, even when you have already told them you changed the batteries multiple times. Your followup reply seems to go in a black hole. I am now trying to get this replaced under the warranty.

I have not tried Oregon Scientific, but I will in the future.

This was my 3rd sensor. They last about 3 years. I got this one and it was DOA,with no display readings. Tech support was useless, sending a canned reply that offered nothing new. I had to get a refund.

This replaced an old unit. I don't like the screw on the front of the unit. The old one rusted badly, but the sensor operated properly through Hurricane Irene and numerous nor'easters for maybe 5 years in a marine environment. Pretty dependable I'd say.

This transmitter works very well with the select LaCross Technology indoor weather instruments. What I like about this unit is that you can walk by it and read the temperature and humidity when you are outside. Has a good LCD screen on it. Also can be attached to your house for easy transmission. Make sure you read the directions and DO NOT place it to far from your receiver.

This item worked OK but it failed within one year. The outdoor sensors are always the weak link to weather stations so when you get a new system always buy an outdoor sensor before they stop selling them.

I am using this for a hot tub. It is in an enclosed environment and out of the sun. The feedback to the base station is off by a good 10 - 12 degrees F. There is no calibration procedure or any specifications on the linearity dynamic range of the device if I wanted to use it for a pond or aquarium. I'm still looking for something on this.
