Eli Cross is one of three brothers that help their family on the family farm. Eli is the cocky one out of the brother s and tries to get away with doing the minimum amount on the farmer. All of a sudden Eli finds himself in a bad situation thanks to his cocky attitude that brings bad PR on the farm. Thanks to this mistake he finds himself in charge of a photographer from NY City that has been brought in to write a story on the farm.
Scarlett Edwards-Stewart a photographer that has taken pictures all over the world finds herself in the middle of Nowhere on a small farm trying to help her best friends save her magazine. What she thought was going to be an easy assignment changes immediately when she meets the sexy farmer that she will be working with during her stay. As Scarlett and Eli start working together Scarlett realizes that Eli has a secret and when she finds out what it is she can decide if it is going to bring them closer or tear their relationship apart.
This is a must read! I Highly Recommend it.
Once again, this author makes us laugh, cry and love along with the Cross “boys.” Eli at first blush appears to be just a stereotypical simple man who cannot pull his weight on the farm but can certainly pull in the ladies. But with the strokes of her keyboard, Ms. Kincaid gives us a very complex, multi-layered character that once again proves you can never “judge a book by its cover.” Scarlett, meanwhile, has “complex” scrawled all over her, but wound up being the very “true to herself” character. Add in Owen’s ornery-ness, Hunter and Emerson’s continuing love story, a crazy unwinnable bet (or is it?) to the mix and you find yourself swept into a story you cannot put down. No spoilers here but believe me - once you reach “The End” you will find yourself hungry for more!
Kimberly Kincaid has delivered a story with heart, feeling, passion, heat and soul in Crossing the Line.
I loved this story so damn much. I think it’s going to be my favourite of the series, big call yes but when a book is this good and pulls so emotionally at your heart strings you know it’s going to be hard to beat.
I may have fallen a tiny bit in love with Eli in the first book Crossing Hearts and now…..wow, who knew there was so many layers to Eli and that every single one I would fall for.
The tough country boy is a complicated man underneath and it takes a special woman to unearth the truth and peel back the layers to get to the REAL Eli and Scarlett is the woman to undo him once and for all.
I adored Scarlett. With her go, go, go attitude to her real passion for her career, there was something special about her that I loved seeing Eli notice, fight and give in to.
Watching these two circle each other while fighting the bone deep attraction was so much fun it should be illegal. Then seeing Scarlett bring out the other side of Eli, priceless.
Add in the other Cross brothers Owen and Hunter who take great joy in riding Eli’s ass over Scarlett, Emerson, Tobias (man I love the old guy) and one hell of a surprise that left me gasping in shock (hey it’s better than the tears that kept leaking because of all the feels) and you have a wonderfully fantastic addition to not only my Cross Creek library but my keeper/re-read shelf.
I can hear the farm calling and I think I need to do a re-read of both Cross Creek books ASAP. Just to keep myself entertained till we get Owen’s book which I need yesterday. I can’t wait to see how the threads started in this book play out.
Their worlds collide when Scarlett offers her services to save her friend’s business by going to the Eli’s farm in Cross Creek where there’s a huge bet between Eli’s farm and a rival farm. It’s a fun story to read where country meets city with a twist of chasing your true passion as well as finding love.
