Wow I absolutely loved this book. Ella and Noah (her brother) run a business called Elementary which is a dinner theatre company.
A new client has approached them and Ella is conducting the meet and greet at their clients house. Ella goes to her new clients house but isn't prepared for the sexy guy that greets her, Ian. Her reaction towards Ian, made me laugh, I was surprised she didn't start drooling. There's an instant connection and attraction between them and Ella finds herself doing something that is totally not her: Ian may have kissed her first but she goes back for seconds.
Noah and Ella are very close and I enjoyed their sibling bantering which was funny.
I loved how Ella gets all risky and surprises Ian at his office in sexy yet compromising lingerie. She acts totally out of character and being around Ian definitely boosts her confidence enough to execute her seduction plan.
Ian is sexy and yummy, and at some point during a scorching sex scene I swear I started drooling. One of my favourite parts is when Ian asks Ella whilst touching her what she wanted him to do, the fact that he wanted her to literally say the words 'lick me' made her so embarrassed and frustrated it made me laugh. Alley Bishop is definitely being added to my favourite author list because I absolutely loved her writing, I was hooked from beginning to end.
A great follow-up to the first book "Inside the Lines". This story follows Ella (creator of Elementary, a party mystery company) and Ian (high-powered attorney and friend to celebrities). I loved Ella in the first book and Ally just made me love Ella even more in this book. Ella is a quiet, unassuming driving force behind Elementary and sister to Noah (Elementary co-owner and her brother). She meets Ian when he hires her company to run a murder-mystery for his birthday party. She goes to his house to go over the details of the event and ends up falling for him, fast and hard and he seems to be equally taken with her.
I love how easily Ella and Ian fall for each other but then events happen to drive them apart and misunderstanding and hiding the truth from each other offers to drive them even further apart. Ally allows us the experience Ella and Ian's joy of this new relationship and also their anxiety over their separation. I loved the added snarkiness and friendship of Noah (Ella's brother), Lux (Ella's friend) and Mick (Ian's friend) and how they stick their noses into the lovebirds business and actually help Ella and Ian resolve their problems and come together.
You don't have to read the first book in the series to enjoy this story but it just adds to the experience and enjoyment of this story.
My only negative comment about this book: it was TOOOOOOO short, I would love to see more time spent on the relationship development of Ella and Ian but I'm a sucker for a long, meandering romance that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
But no doubt about it...this is another great story by Ally, I canNOT wait until the next story in this series.
A job puts Ella into Ian's life and they share an instant connection. It leaps off the page and you are swept away in that intense, lustful feeling that occurs when you meet someone you're insanely attracted to. But it's a rough ride to happily ever after. It feels like karma or fate put the two together and then does her damnest to test the relationship.
This is my first book from Ally Bishop and I really enjoyed her writing style. It was highly entertaining and had a solid storyline. I have not read the other book in the Without a Trace series but Crossing the Line can easily be read as a standalone. One that I would definitely recommend it to you to read.

If you are appalled by a character who doesn't take "enough time" to plunge into sexytimes, and perhaps breaks professional ethics (see title, Crossing the Line), you may not like this. But if you're annoyed by characters where sexual consummation is delayed for no good reason, you'll love it. I also really like the character of Dominatrix Lux, can't wait to read HER story.
This is the first of this author's super steamy romances I've read, but it won't be the last.
