About the Author

Born and raised in New Orleans, Annie has a habit of shortening her words and telling long stories. She speaks with a southern flair and cooks with it too. At the tender age of twenty- one, she hitched up her wagons (took her first plane ride) and moved out west to the big shake (California). Her writing career began one sleepless night when she imagined a gorgeous woman and a man with maniacal hair floating above her like lightening bugs falling from the sky. Curious about them, their story, and why they were floating around in her head, she sat down and penned (typed) her first novel, Marigny Street. A dream come true for her, she hasn't stopped writing since. She loves a damn good love story, always has, no matter what the genre. She is particularly moved by imperfect love that in its own unique way is perfect, the notion of love at first sight, soul mates, and things that are generally out of the norm. When she's not writing she enjoys dabbling in photography and finding new, inspirational music to add to her collection. She currently (still) resides in the big shake (although her southern roots are calling her home) with her husband, daughter, and their two peculiar dogs, Boudreaux and Tabasco (who, call her crazy, bark with an accent). For lagniappe (a little extra), a virtual cup of café au lait and beignets, please visit Annie's website: She can also be found on Facebook & Twitter.

Well, Annie Rose Welch does it again! Every book in this series just gets better and better! This book ties everything up with a wonderful big bow! Raphael and Catalina's story is both beautiful and heart-breaking.

I've fallen in love, Mama. Her name is Catalina and she runs through my veins just as the salty seawater. If the ship was my home all those years, she is my forever shore to drop my anchor.

And OMG, Ms. Welch, you made me laugh so hard, I cried!

"Now, let's just wait a minute. Let's just wait one grape pickin' minute," he gravels. "We have no smoke, no burning bread, no profanities in Italian, no pizza pelting, no flies crapping on the food, no potatoes --" He scrunches his nose, almost like a rabbit. "What's going on here?"

And FINALLY!! Eva and Gabriel meet!

"The story is --" she pauses again, this time longer "--it's my own story. It's part of yours. It's partially ours. I've had dreams of you....all of my life. I always knew you would be with me someday, somehow. I guess fate chose today. The good that came from my bad was you, Gabriel."

I loved this book!! And I cannot wait to see what the final book in this wonderful series brings! These characters are so full of life and the writing is descriptively beautiful! I cannot recommend this series enough. You will not be disappointed!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have waited for a VERY long time for this book! I love how we see from two different perspectives and what's even more different is they are both from men! Miss Welch has outdone herself in this wonderful book that finally brings Gabrielle and Eva together for realsies! I love how this story starts off as a sad love story and shows just how much love can accomplish! I love how all the lose ends are tied together and everything---all of the stories in the SAVING ANGELS series---make a complete picture that is beautiful and wonderful. Six degrees of separation meets The Notebook with a dash of paranormal. I guarantee you will love this book (and series) from the first word.

I was honored to beta read this. I've been extremely humbled by this wonderfully talented author to give me a chance to be one of the first that have read this book and series. I'm in love with the stories and this author's writing styles. I guarantee you will too!

Just finished book #4 Cross roads. Loved loved loved it. I cried through most of it. I could feel and understand the pain and loss these women went through. You did an excellent job bringing the hurt and healing out in the open. Having gone thru the loss of a child myself many years ago people can say they can share their sympathies but unless you actually go thru it you never know. But Ms lady writer I want to tell you it was like you were stepping inside my heart and pulled out what I went thru and still feel when I allow myself to feel. Keep it up your doin great. Your characters are very vivid and alive. They make you want to meet them. Live down the street from them. It's almost like you if you go shoppin you could bump into them. Can't wait for the next one.

Just a little tidbit if your readers that don't know what it means by making groceries. It comes from way back before stores were around the pioneers would go hunting they would tell their wives they were going to make groceries and the women would make quilts and other things to trade other families for their homes. Therefore the term "Making Groceries".

Wow. Just wow. This is Madam Catalina's story, with a bit of Eva & Gabriel mixed in. SUCH a sweet read. So much romance without the cheesy feeling, so much love in the story. There's love, there's heartache, there's laughter (you have GOT to read about the pizza & Catalina's cooking in general), there's anger on behalf of a young Catalina, it's another roller coaster story. You will laugh, and you will laugh out loud. A young Madam Catalina is one feisty woman. She was SUCH a real character, and you really got to know her. Everyone else was real too, but she really sticks out for me. From the red cloak, to the descriptions of the dresses and her ways and mannerisms, as my Grandmama would say, she's a firecracker. I laughed until I cried. Then I cried more at the heartache. The missed opportunities, the miscommunication just broke my heart. While parts of the story is set years ago, the message is still true today. You neeeeed to go get your own copy of this book. You won't be disappointed. Ms. Welch has knocked another one out of the park.

bloody brilliant book. We have two sets of love stories at a crossroads converging with similar backgrounds meeting up in a hospital during a hurricane. The tie in to all the previous books is so subtle and wonderfully done that you feel at home with these characters. I love how we got a snippet of the future of Michael and Lotus. Here we see the power of love can heal broken souls, lost souls and keep us going. Our story revolves around Raphael and Catalina and finally Gabriel and Evangeline. Gabriel and Evangeline was the first book in the series and it ended sadly with Gabriel being set off to find himself and lost in love. He knows he has a great love out there but cannot find her and only gets snippets of her. It isn’t until they see each other in the hospital that all the memories come back. These memories though have him fear the love and Evangeline because in each one he is set loose by her only to be continually lost in the world trying to find out who he is. Evangeline waits so patiently for him and this is a coming of terms for her. Gabriel must figure out if he will chance love or be continuously a broken soul wandering aimlessly in finding peace and happiness. They are given hope and perspective to their love by listening to the tale of Raphael and Catalina. Two lovers whose love is so great it spans decades. Each of them are ill and wanting to tell of the love that was so great in their lives but also hurt them. Raphael never gave up hope on Catalina and having her see he is the only one for her. Never gave up hope that Catalina would forgive herself and see that love is forgiving and supportive. their sad tale helps Evangeline and Gabriel see how fleeting and precious love is. The writing is amazing.Read more ›
