With a product portfolio that includes upgrades for more than 100,000 systems, we've got one specifically designed for your Mac system.
Reliability for Mac systems
When you use your Mac system, you expect intuitive, dependable performance. And if you’re a Mac Pro user, you expect mission-critical workstation reliability. Expect the same out of your memory. Every module that leaves our doors has been extensively tested at the component level for voltage and temperature resistances, signal integrity, and software compatibility. Even better, modules are lead and halogen-free.*
Speed and energy efficiency for Mac systems
A memory upgrade is the fastest, easiest, and most affordable way to get more performance out of your Mac system. Standard DDR3 modules help Mac systems reach speeds up to 1600 MT/s. For newer Mac systems, DDR3L modules are available. These modules deliver speeds starting at 1866 MT/s and use 10% less power for improved energy efficiency.

Top Customer Reviews
"Free" : If your "Free" memory is low (or 0!) you probably need more memory.
"Page Outs" : If the "Page Outs" is high, this means that your computer is using hard disk rather than RAM for memory functions and produces a severe loss in speed.
"Swap Used" : This gives a rough estimate of how much hard disk is used for RAM. This will give you a rough idea of how much RAM you should add. i.e. if this is 4 GB, then you should add at least 4 GB.
You should check these numbers while doing the types of activities you normally use your computer for. Not just at idle with nothing running!
As far as this item goes, Crucial is a known Apple-friendly RAM and is unlikely to give you any issues. It is also a high quality manufacturer and is much more reliable than some cheaper brands. Remember, RAM is dirt cheap these days so don't save a few $$ to buy inferior quality RAM! You should just not buy any if you are going to buy a terrible brand.
For people with a Macbook Pro, install is quite easy. You can find many manuals on the internet (I prefer iFixit). Don't be intimidated buy installing it. You can save a lot of money by doing it yourself. If you feel uncomfortable, then by all means have someone qualified to do it for you.

Results: 4Gb to 8Gb RAM upgrade did not improve boot time but greatly improved speed of opening multiple applications. However, the addition of RAM+SDD was a game changer. Amazing performance improvement in boot time, shutdown time and all operations.
MBPro Comparison Stats:
Before (4Gb memory):
Boot Time to login screen - 0:57
Time to Mail login window - 2:22
After (8Gb Memory, HDD):
Shutdown - 0:33
Boot Time to login screen - 1:00
Time to Mail login window - 2:20
After (8Gb Memory, SSD):
Shutdown - 0:16
Boot Time to login screen - 0:16
Time to Mail login window - 0:30
As an added bonus, I learned that my old 4Gb 2010 iMac had two empty memory slots. I installed the 2 old 2Gb SIMMs from my MBPro into my 2010 iMac. Both machines are now upgraded to 8Gb RAM with the purchase of only one 8Gb upgrade kit.
Price paid: < $80 for 8gb Ram & $120 for 240GB SSD.
Installation: <30 min (see great videos from OWC on Youtube)
Restore disk data from time capsule: 2 hrs
Price paid: $0 for additional 4Gb RAM (2 x 2Gb SIMMs removed/replaced on MBPro)
Installation: 10 minutes
Remarkable performance improvement on both machines.
FYI: Despite Apple's claims, 8GB of RAM WILL work in the late 2008 unibody aluminum macbook, according to several reputable articles I've seen. (Just in case 4GB isn't enough for you)
Installation was fast and easy after watching some videos on YouTube.
Wish I had done this sooner.
To clarify what I saw for improvements, I've been playing WoW with extremely long load times between zones or when logging on. It's now faster. I also blog so I tend to keep a lot of windows open on Chrome- Have had some issues with loading pages, Chrome shutting down, slow system etc. Since upgrading, those problems have been better.
