- Some of the storage capacity is used for formatting and other purposes and is not available for data storage. 1GB equals 1 billion bytes. Not all capacities available at initial launch.
- Typical I/O performance numbers as measured using CrystalDiskMark with a queue depth of 32 and write cache enabled. Fresh out-of-box (FOB) state is assumed. For performance measurement purposes, the SSD may be restored to FOB state using the secure erase command. System variations will affect measured results.

Serial number? Doesn't work, Part number? Doesn't work. Model number? Nope. Name? Nuh uh. Material number ONLY. And IF YOU ORDER FROM AMAZON YOU WILL NOT GET PACKAGING THAT HAS A MATERIAL NUMBER.
So I clicked the "Terms and Conditions" link... Page 404...
So I clicked the "Contact Customer Service" link... page 404... ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
So since I couldn't use their automatic form I just opened a live chat with an agent... who then began to interrogate me on "how do I KNOW it's bad?" "What steps did I take to try and fix it myself".... I RUN a computer repair business and even after answering all of his questions, that wasn't good enough. Like... he was trying to get me to say that I couldn't be sure my tests weren't lying to me or something. again.... I. Do. This. For. A. Living!
After THIRTY minutes of getting the runaround on what tests I ran and how ridiculous all this was in the first place I ended the conversation and refunded through amazon instead.
My company will now order all our SSDs exclusively from another brand from now on. Because they refused to RMA a single drive they literally lost hundreds upon hundreds of sales.
So be warned. If >I< a professional IT technician can't satisfy them that I know when an SSD is bad, I hold little hope that the average consumer will experience anything more then a nightmare runaround attempting to get this shady company to honor their warranty.
Amazon support ends at 90 days and Crucial s website says it cannot give an RMA.
Customer Support is only open M-F during business hours so for this requires some, including me, to take a day off from work do a return.

My first suspicion something was wrong was the SSD didn't come in a sealed barcoded box like Samsung SSDs, it was packed in a plain brown envelope with "Crucial" stenciled on the outside. When I opened the package I found a bent and twisted press-to-close plastic container. Inside was the Crucial BX500 SSD, not sealed or shrink-wrapped. I checked out a YouTube video for unboxing the BX500 and it shows a nice SEALED blue and black box in contrast to this ugly brown envelope. So clearly something wasn't right here.
When I tried to insert the SSD into my SATA test enclosure it refused to fit. When I examined the SSD's connector I saw the two pin tabs were bent down, and one of the guide slots was broken. After correcting the pin tabs I successfully inserted the SSD, connected to my PC, formatted it to NTFS and checked the SMART using CrystalDiskInfo. Although most of the SMART parameters were zeroed-out, imagine my shock when I saw the following parameters:
0xCA Percent Used: 64% !!!!!!
0xF6 Total Host Sector Writes: 24756CD
0xF7 Host Program Page Count: 123AB6
CrystalDiskInfo reported total Host Writes = 18GB (Holy #%!*@ !!!)
So I got a used drive with a bent connector and most of it's lifetime gone. I don't know how Crucial thinks they can get away with selling such an obviously used drive. It's back to Samsung for me.

Many are shocked because they can’t believe that it is possible for a compact, affordable component that does not require complicated installations - to make such a significant difference in performance.
I am often asked by friends, relatives, acquaintances to upgrade or speed up their PCs - and every time I come across desktops/laptops that have an old HDD as their system disk - I become happy, thinking: ''Oh yeah, I know how to impress you''.
I used this Crucial BX500 SSD to upgrade storage and speed up my cousin’s old HP laptop.
It is important for him to have Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Photoshop open all at the same time and this SSD has completely resolved all of his crashing, slow loading and spinning wheel issues.
· Boot up and opening programs seems about 5 times faster than with the original spinning disk hard drive.
👉 Fun fact: CrystalDiskMark7 shows weird results, from (Read)560MB/s / (Write)530MB/s TO (Read)700MB/s / (Write)620MB/s - anyway, this fact doesn't affect performance at all.
✔ Pros:
+ High performance comparing to competitive drives
+ Great option as HDD replacement
+ Suitable for laptops and desktops
+ Affordable (great for users who need an affordable storage solution to speed up their computers)
+ Low Power Consumption
✖ Cons:
<none>
I will update if I find anything on continuous use.
Overall, this is a great choice for a do-it-all drive that works much faster than a mechanical drive without breaking the budget.
I can’t evaluate long term reliability, but my initial impression is excellent.

I rely on reviews when I make purchases, so I put a lot of time into reviewing everything I buy on Amazon.

Qualche consiglio
