Installed in desktop PC. As with any desktop install make sure you have SATA power and SATA data cables, as well as either a 2.5" bay in your case or you will need a 3.5 to 2.5in bay adapter. My system is a i5 3570k, 16GB RAM for reference.

Acronis: I activated the included Acronis cloning software without a hitch, as directed in the instructions. They give you a key to activate on their site, Acronis requires you to register using your email, and you're sent a full product code after doing so. Acronis was easy to clone (copy) my existing 60GB SSD over to this larger 250GB. It took about 5 clicks to setup, and about 6 minutes to clone 55GB over to this new drive. (My OCZ Agility 3 is rated at 525r/500w, for reference.) Acronis software also has some neat features you can use after, such as being able to backup your whole drive as an image (smaller file) in case something ever happens you can restore. I set mine up to backup to one of my 1TB 7200RPM drives, and it uses a 35GB image to backup my 60GB of data on this drive currently.

MX vs BX:
Their 2 newest models for 2015. This MX series replaces their prior "high-end" MX100 SSD's, which were pretty highly regarded as quality drives. This one does cost a little more than the BX, so why should it matter? The MX adds some fancy features the BX does not have, mainly "Dynamic Write Acceleration" (DWA). This is an advanced caching feature that is supposed to help with sustained write speeds. Additionally, the MX has enterprise level hardware features like Thermal Throttling and Full AES Encryption. The MX series also has a slightly higher "write endurance", which is the amount of data that can be written to the drive over it's lifespan.

I was seriously considering purchasing a new MacBook Pro as my late 2011 laptop was growing tediously slow. However, I could not justify the purchase as the new Mac's cannot be upgraded(memory). So, rather than upgrade to a new computer I decided to upgrade what I could and save money. I maxed out the memory so there was nothing left to do other than switch out the HD for an SSD. I purchased an enclosure, slid the SSD in and copied my HD with Carbon Copy Cloner. After the cloning process finished, I shut my Mac down, opened the case, disconnected the battery and the HD, installed the SSD, closed the case and rebooted. WOW!!! What a difference! I can't remember this Mac performing like this in such a long time. Everything loads like lightning!

The spec on this have been gone over many time in these reviews. What I would like to do is just give you my experience using this product and cloning my current HDD to this one.

My PC is an Dell XPS 8700 with 16 Gig of RAM, 1 TB HDD. It came with Win 7 Pro and I tried out the Win 10 Pro upgrade. After upgrading to Windows 10 I decided to get an SSD drive and settled on this one due to the balance of speed and endurance with expected life span of the drive.
After research this is what I did.
1. Downloaded and installed Macrium Reflect Free
2. Defragged my HDD
3. Made two backup images of my current HDD
4. Checked the images
5. Purchased the SilverStone 3.5 to 2.5 HDD / SDD Bay Converter (SDP08)
6. Purchased the StarTech.com USB 3.0 to 2.5" SATA III Hard Drive Adapter Cable w/ UASP
7. Of Course ordered the BX200 1 TB SSD drive
8. Plugged in the StarTech Converter, let Windows 10 install it.
9. Plugged in the BX200
10. Looked in My Computer (didn’t see the BX200)
11. Didn’t worry about #10
12. Started Macrium Reflect
13. Clicked on: Clone this disk…
14. Clicked on: Select a disk to clone
15. Selected the new BX200 drive. It wasn’t labeled that, but you can tell by the size.
16. Clicked next, and let the cloning begin
17. 30 min and 2 seconds later my clone was finished
18. Macrium Reflect had already run the Trim command on the drive so that was cool
19. I clicked on the windows Safely Remove Hardware and selected my newly cloned SSD
20. I unhooked the SSD from the USB converter
21. Shut down the PC, and unhooked everything.
22. I took the PC to a tile floor area so I would reduce the chance of static electricity

My Primary SSD was filling up quickly with software updates and OS updates. Bottom line I needed a larger SSD as the primary drive, I also wanted my computer to be able to upgrade into Windows 10 down the line. The Specs for the SSD are on par with other value SSD's ....Since I also have another SSD specifically for my games, it seemed like a trust worthy choice to hold my OS and other precious programs.

Using the Acronis cloning software was god send! In fact when you purchase this SSD they send you to the web site and provide a KEY to download the complete software. The process to clone my main drive into this new larger SSD took about 5 min. No issues using it at all. All my programs work just fine and no issues or crashes involving the OS. Crucial is making great gains in earning my trust for future purchases on SSD's; this was also my very first time cloning a drive....I usually rebuild all from scratch on my OS and programs but obtaining all those Keys for my OS and programs seems like a pain and it was avoided by using Acronis. Thanks! Purchase with confidence. Great value.
