I ordered this item and it was delivered on time in perfect condition and securely wrapped. My boyfriend insisted I needed the upgrade though I never felt it was necessary. We actually got into a bit of a shouting match over this. For some reason the issue just hit a nerve with both of us and things got a bit heated, but really just for a few moments. A word of advice, if you are a gay couple living deep behind enemy lines in Utah like we are and you find yourself standing in the driveway shouting to your partner about how much RAM he needs to be satisfied or how that its not only about the RAM and that he should tweek the hardware every now and then, consider yourself uninvited for the Sunday pot luck dinners for a while. And, no matter what, do not openly and within earshot of your neighbors discuss the frequencies for Hertz and MegaHertz. As it turns out, I'm pleased with the memory upgrade, it has put the badda back in bing. I think that's just fabulous. You will too.

Not sure why it would take so many boots to get the ram to work as I've done this so many times. I did run the specs of my PC on Crucial to check the compatibility of my laptop to ensure that I would not exceed the Ram on the motherboard.

Overall I am pleased with the small upgrades to my old laptop but it is running that much faster now.

I recommend trying to boot with 1 ram stick first if your laptop comes with 2 banks. I am assuming that the bios is detecting a fluctuation in voltage in the dimm banks and is adjusting...

please do your homework to see if your laptop is compatible with the upgrades.

I'm sure this is a great product, however the Amazon memory configurator lists this as compatible with my Acer Aspire 5720Z laptop, but it is not. Upon opening the case I discovered it is not compatible. My computer needs DDR2 memory, specifically SODIMM PC2-5300. Unfortunately I ordered this prior to my daughter coming home with the computer and went past the 30 day return period. My bad for ordering too early. I will sell it to anyone interested for the same price I paid $26.29 + shipping. Sorry, no returns.

The 2-piece kit is a few dollars cheaper than buying 2 sticks separately. I've generally had very good luck with Crucial DRAM, which has been my trusted brand for RAM for many years (as well as for flash-based SSD products in recent years). It's also a US-based company. Recommended.

I am glad they sell on Amazon at the same or better price; Crucial is a great company that makes dependable products that I've relied on for years, and Amazon has tremendous' customer service.

The sticks arrived without static damage. They snapped right in and sped one of my computers up immediately. I had upgraded that machine to Windows 10 and it had been having out of memory messages and shut downs. This fixed that problem and the PC is speedy and useful again. The system recognised the memory immediately and it all registered. I've had no memory errors at all.

I'm very pleased with this purchase. If this system would take more, I'd buy more!

When I bought, the photo for this item was of a pair of DIMM (desktop computer type) memory modules, though the description clearly says SODIMM (laptop computer type). After spending ages trawling the internet for the best priced PC3-12800 memory I saw this and stupidly ordered it based on the photo. Just thought I'd post this warning to others in case they fall into the same trap.

On the plus side, Amazon have given me an instant credit so I've been able to order a replacement of the right kind even before returning this one, without losing out financially. Fantastic service.
