I have hardwood floors throughout my house and just a few rugs here and there. When my 15 year old upright vacuum finally bit the dust, I really didn't want to spend the money on a whole vacuum for just a few rugs. I first tried using the standard attachments that came with my shop vac, but despite the suction being much more than my old vacuum, I realized that without a beater brush, my rugs were always going to be full of grit and dust. I browsed through beater brushes on Amazon for quite a long time. It took me nearly a month to decide on this one... A lot of the expensive ones had pretty lousy ratings, this one seemed like the ratings might be artificially high since it's so cheap. But I figured at $22 bucks there wasn't much to lose, so I gave this little sucker (ha-ha) a shot.
Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with this thing. It meets my needs perfectly. It has greatly expanded my shop vac's capabilities and I'm thrilled that I don't need a second vacuum for the few rugs that I have.
I didn't give it a full 5 stars, because I don't think that this would be sufficient for someone with a fully carpeted house.
High pile carpet can stop the brushes since they're air driven, but if you keep the angle just right, it works well enough.
The vacuum head is a bit narrower than a standard vacuum, but that actually concentrates the cleaning power, so it's not a bad thing.
Lugging my shop vac around the house is a bit clumsy, but like I said, I just have a few rugs.

Got tired of buying normal vacuums that never have enough power to clean or do anything but take up space. I bought a little shop vac from home depot and bought this attachment. (home depots multi use attachment is only really good for hard floors) Because my little shop vac has a lot of power all I have to do is just glide the attachment across the floor and the brush turns all the time on my carpet. For the price I paid, I am more then satisfied with my purchase and will probably buy another just in case this one breaks. This attachment is made better then the home depot attachment and it has the roll brush and home depot's attachment has no roll brush.
