About the Author
When Debra Barton moved into her home in Northern California, she strongly sensed that the area had been sacred Native American land. Intrigued, she began researching the tribes that had inhabited the area and their demise as first the Spanish conquistadors and then the white settlers claimed their land.
Barton’s research took her to Mission San Jose, where she discovered a newspaper clipping about the tragic fate of a Native American boy in 1859. The Cry of the Lone Coyote brings his long-forgotten story, along with the plight of his people, finally to light.
