I am an avid crystal collector and found the included tumbled stones to be of decent quality. Best of all, they pertained to the accompanying crystal healing book (which was an excellent source of information).
I enjoyed how the author included a wide variety of crystal-related information here. There was a good balance of geological (scientific) and new age (metaphysical) information within this book. The author covered topics from historical and modern uses of stones, to crystal structure and formation, to common configurations and healing properties. She also clearly explained how to cleanse your stones as well as offers the greatest variety of crystal meditations I have seen in any one collection.
The only thing I didn't like was that the meditations were interspersed with the information on Chakras, which didn't make much sense to me (as the meditations that were presented only had loose connections to the chakras' sections in which they were placed). I think it would have been easier to read if the chakras were in one section and the meditations in another, but the information is so good, that it is worth thumbing through the section to find what you are looking for (even if it is a bit disorganized).
Additionally, there are a few nice layouts presented in the back of the book, which were well-described and great for beginners.
Over all, I did enjoy this book, and even learned a few new things. The stones in the kit are really just more of an added bonus than a reason to buy the kit. The book is the real reason to make this purchase.
