How we got our start?A few years back, three of us co-founders had full-time desk jobs and realized how sedentary our lives became. While there were fitness trackers to track exercise, there was little that helped us be more active throughout the day without disrupting our routine. Thus, Cubii was born.
What makes our product unique?Cubii is a beautiful product with a patented design that’s ergonomic. It’s designed to be low to no impact on joints, so it becomes unconscious. It is the only elliptical that connects to a mobile app, Fitbit, & Apple HealthKit to track, share, & compete, making it a unique community experience.
Why we love what we do?We love how simple Cubii is. It fits into everyday life, at an office desk or home couch. What keeps us going are user impact stories – from working parents balancing work & family, to people with limited mobility looking to revitalize & build muscle strength, Cubii’s opened doors that didn’t exist.
Work fitness into your daily routine with the original under desk elliptical.
As the ONLY bluetooth enabled elliptical on the market, connect to the Cubii iOS and Android app to track calories, strides, miles, minutes and RPM. Set personalized goals and compete with others. Sync your workouts to FitBit and Apple HealthKit to reach your 10,000 step goal. Go beyond the calorie count to improve your posture and engage your abs/core muscles, hip flexors, glutes, quads, hamstrings and calves. As an easy alternative to the gym, enjoy a workout without sacrificing work time.

Lots of people have reported issues with the app but I haven't had a problem. The only little glitch is the timing for it's syncing to fitbit. If you get your hourly reminder to get your steps in with 10 minutes left in the hour, you are unlikely to make your goal with Cubii because it won't sync in time and it credits your steps for the time when it does sync, not when you actually used the Cubii. Just missed my 9:00 hour goal despite using Cubii continuously starting at 9:45 and getting far over the 150 steps I needed to finish my goal.
I'm pleased by the fact that I can feel when I've been using the machine, so it really is working muscles. So far I've only had the resistance at 2 but next week I plan to bump it up. Being tied to a desk all day, I feel like this is a great solution to improve my level of activity and having my Cubii at work even inspired me to make a desk platform for my treadmill at home, so I can keep up the movement when I'm working from home.
I was a little worried about charging the Cubii charged but it appears to go for a while between charges. So far I've only charged it once and it still shows that it's mostly charged. It's good to know that you don't have to charge it all the time- maybe a couple times of month if my experience so far holds..
There's a lot of evidence that shows the dangers of desk jobs and Cubii was something I could do to try to be healthier in my work hours. I still walk the dog, hike, and work out beyond the office and Cubii does not replace other forms of exercise - it just increases the level of activity I can fit in on a work day. And while it's hard to tell yet if that extra calorie burn is making a difference on the scale, I did not put on weight during a long weekend out of town, which seems encouraging. I'll have to see how that part goes with time.
-Super easy to put together.
-Very quiet, almost silent.
-the App works fine for me but I wish it included a %battery and not just a visual bar (I like numbers) and an indicator that it is charging.
-addicting to use, maybe too much without working up to it because I think it uses different muscles than my typical walking or workout videos (I am feeling like I am getting shin splints just from 0.5 miles and today is the first day using it) from using it on and off while surfing the internet for an hour.
-Very heavy, especially when you consider you will be moving it around underneath a desk, which makes it difficult to use proper body mechanics. However, the heaviness does help keep it in place, so not a total con.
-I had hoped to move this to other rooms when doing different activities, but I am afraid it's staying right where it is.
-The port where the micro USB goes in does not seem to be that well made, compared to the rest of the Cubii. it is somewhat difficult to plug in the micro USB and makes me never want to unplug it again either ... I'll unplug the USB adapter from the power when needed rather than crawl under my desk with a flashlight to unplug and plug it in.

The Cubii is small, discreet, has a smooth motion and is pretty much silent, which is a huge advantage in an office. You position it under your desk and it's right there at your feet so it almost obliges you to use it when you sit at your desk (unlike home fitness equipment that sits forlornly in a corner waiting to be used). The motion feels very natural, and being elliptical you don't have the problem of knees hitting the underside of your desk.
I have used it for four days and was able to pedal for 5-6 hours a day without feeling tired. It has eight resistance settings so you can spend time building up week by week.
The video shows the elliptical motion, while the chart image, from my Fitbit (with which it integrates), shows a typical day before Cubii (left) and using Cubii (right). You can see the difference in activity very clearly. This difference means a lot more calorie burn while sitting at my desk. In fact I've tracked calorie burn with an HRM/Fitdigits and it suggests I could be burning 4-5x more calories an hour with this compared with sitting. During the time I have been using it my work has not been disrupted. Phone calls, reading, typing etc all quite normal.
The app is good and I'm sure will have new features added. There is a global ranking and challenges to keep you motivated. I found it was quite easy to do 16 Cubii km a day to get into the global top-5 rankings.
Overall, I'm very pleased with this as it's significantly increasing my activity time during the day. I mix Cubii with a 5km walk at lunchtime plus walks to and from the office, which is a good balance. It's easy to be active for 5+ hours a day with this and you can't say that about most fitness equipment, so I think it's a very good investment compared to a spinning bike, rower etc that will take up precious space at home. With the Cubii you just put it under your desk, out of everyone's way, and start pedalling.
I typically used to do 200-300 cals a day, but as i sit less nowadays, i only use it during short gaming bursts of 100 cals for a daily target.
So this was a no brainer. I'll start with the pro's then the con's.
Smooth pedaling motion.
Quite (depending on speed and setting)
App - The app is clever at keeping stats, and syncs with my fitbit watch which is cool (a few hours pedaling = a few thousand steps) - i like you can make your own group and join others so see how much activity they are doing too! (a bit of a competition is always good!)
Unit creep - Unless you wedge it, wedging it using something solid against a wall is what i've done.
Maintains muscle mass - This is a good pro, it does strengthen and puts more muscle if you really get in to it, but if you use it casually or frantically during a racing game like i do, the blood and circulation doesn't pool around in your foot like sitting normally does, its also a good way to use it for stress relief and before sleeping.
Very heavy - Surprisingly heavy and had a tough time moving this around the house, now it just stays in one place.
Unit Creep - Even though the unit is heavy, it still moves forward when using it (well for me as i'm not a small person) - It does unfortunately needs wedging.
Size of footprint - I just barely made it, if my feet were any bigger (UK 13) i would struggle to place my footprint on the pedals properly, sometimes i fall off, if i get too excited.
Wheels - Still curious about the rubber wheels on the rubber texture mat though, due to the use so far, the rubber wheels gel or melt as i like to call it, and you have to clean this away, and the smell it leaves lingering behind isn't great.
Price - Pricey for the cons, but it is heavy duty, i know it will last... (just hope the wheels don't burn up!)
Noise - Quiet at first, but starts to get a range of all new weird sounds, like creaks, clicks, snaps but doesn't stop the performance and i just whack on headphones to mute them out.
Overall - I love it as it keeps my legs going strong, the creep factor is annoying but you can't fight Newton's 3rd law of motion, keep it wedged, use it often and use the app! Stats are fun!
At first I took it easy and did a mile or 2 a day - 2 weeks later I am up to 8 miles a day and have also invested in a heart rate monitor to make sure I am burning fat.
1. I get more exercise (equivalent to something like 88% of the exercise I'd get it I were walking or running - it depends how fast I go)
2., The profile of the unit is very low, so there is no chance of me bashing my knees on the desk above
2. I can compete against other people in the world - there are leader-boards if you choose to join groups, and it's always a nice feeling to be near the top
3. Can view graphs to show my progress over the day/week/month
4. Have so far dropped 1.5st since using it!
Few negatives, but not bad enough to drop a star:
1. The app is only OK, I mean it does the job and I've only ever had trouble connecting once, however I think the app needs a better design and more settings/options to set it up the way I want it.
2. The resistance setting needs to be made on the unit itself, then you need to manually change it on the app.
Edit: Had a bit of trouble with a noisy unit, their customer service is excellent and they quickly got me a new unit sent out. I am very satisfied with the level of service I received, I just wish all companies were as excellent as Cubii.
I must say I'm very impressed so far with the Cubii Pro. It's very easy to use and I can definitely feel my thigh muscles working. For me it's definitely easier to use than my bicycle seated machine.
I had been mulling for months about whether to buy this Cubii. The high price tag put me off. I just didn't want it to be another machine that was just left gathering dust in the corner. I don't think this will happen somehow because it's so easy and fun to use. I like that it connects to the internet on your phone and you can check your progress and set targets. That in itself is motivation along with the fact that it's very easy to use and I can feel my muscles working almost straight away.
I use it while watching TV after dinner and it stops me feeling sleepy. It is heavy but I would like to move it to the office so I can use it while I work. Tempting to buy a second one rather than keep moving between office and living room.
I like it and it's a keeper. I'm very pleased with my purchase and very glad I took the leap of faith. If anything changes I'll keep you posted. I have been using it for 3 days straight now since buying and doing 5000 strides per day on level 1 (baby steps)! My thighs are really feeling it!!! Love it! 🥰
Update:. Day 8 and I have been using the Cubii Pro every day. I feel stronger and more energised and today I made over 18,200 strides!! So exciting to be able to view your progress on the app and see in real time how others are doing and try to overtake them on the score board!.
Sadly yes there have been Bluetooth connection issues with the app. I keep having to uninstall and reinstall it over and over which can be frustrating. It is great when it works but frustrating with the glitches re Bluetooth. I have no regrets about buying it. Just hope they manage to sort out their glitches.
Update: 3 weeks in and still loving it and using daily! I have now done 55 miles and over 300,000 strides in 3 weeks!!;🚵🚵🚵
Update: While it was partly slow and took some time, the support team resolve this by a replacements seeing it became clear that it was a production fault in this case. Update review score to reflect.
It took me 15 minutes to set Cubii up (no help needed) and 24 hours to charge. Installing the app & registering was also easy. The build quality and design are superb.
My only criticism would be the manufacturer's claim that Cubii is 'whisper quiet': On speakerphone calls, the person on the line can hear Cubbi in action! Also, on occasion, the right hand rotator develops a slight squeaking noise so I need to look into how I might stop this.
All in all I have given 5 stars because this piece of kit was exactly what I was looking for and I really enjoy using it...in fact, it's slightly addictive!
It has an iOS app which was a factor in my decision to buy, but it doesn't sync with the Apple Health app which was a deal breaker for me - this wasn't mentioned in the advertising material
Ottimo sia il servizio di Amazon, come sempre, che il fornitore, preciso e puntuale.
Adore it. Having physical limitations following an accident and hating to walk at -20c it's ideal for me, exercise lower body, increasing cardio and blood flow, all of this at low impact on the joints, perfect!
