After years of marriage David finds that the man he once loved is no longer the same man he's with. Thomas is neglectful, arrogant and basically a stranger to him.
When Thomas cheats David is forced to re evaluate what he wants his life to be.
It should be stated here that I do not condone cheating on a cheater but when David meets Remy that fire he'd thought extinguished by years of neglect reignites and he finds himself feeling...alive for the first time in ages.
It's a heartbreaking merry go round but it's a worthy read.
Cuffed to the Future Tied to the Past is another terrific read from author Noah Harris. He has a way with words that just draws you into the characters and has you rooting for them. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
This book is full of just the right amount of angst, grit and turmoil. I love that! It keeps me on my toes and questioning where the book will take me. I feel like this was something new for the author. The other books I’ve read by him don’t have the same attention grabbing plot like this book. Thank you for bringing this book into the world of reading.
I immediately took to Thomas and David. Both men grew on me as I read the book. Both men had lost a sense of who they really were as their marriage went on.
Thomas began to resent David because he stayed home all day. Even though that’s what Thomas wanted. Thomas pressured him into it. Thomas began to question what David did on a daily basis. This doubt led to his anger and fueled his resentment. And, ultimately, led to the affair Thomas had with Hayden. He basically lost confidence in himself and in his marriage.
When David became a stay at home husband, he lost his drive. His ability to appreciate himself as well as Thomas. This led to losing respect in his husband as well as his self-respect. While away, David began to find himself again. He found his voice and his adventurous side. Remy was able to unleash a side of David he never knew existed.
In the end, Thomas and David slowly began to find themselves again and the love they had lost. I think it’s fantastic that they started dating again. The only thing I didn’t care for was the abrupt ending. I felt like Thomas’ and David’s story was unfinished. I didn’t feel like there was any indication that it would continue to book 2. If it continues to book 2, it won’t be with Thomas and David. It may be about Remy. I hope we hear more from these two men. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
