Cuisinart is pleased to offer an exciting variety of specialty pieces. Easy pouring saucepans make draining liquids simple and our gourmet pans make everyday cooking tasks a pleasure
Enhance your existing Chef's Classic set with this versatile, 12-inch everyday pan, or give it as a gift to someone whose kitchen space is limited. You can cook practically anything in this superb specialty piece. Simmer soup, fry chicken, stir-fry vegetables, cook pancakes, and even bake casseroles. The two loop-style, riveted stainless-steel handles make the shape more compact for fitting in an oven, and the domed glass lid conveniently lets you monitor what's cooking. Chef's Classic cookware handsomely serves at the table, too.
Cuisinart constructs this pan of hard-anodized aluminum, which is even stronger than stainless steel, with an encapsulated pure aluminum core for quick, even heating. The interior features Cuisinart's Quantanium nonstick finish, a high-quality, long-lasting finish internally reinforced with titanium. Little oil or butter is needed when cooking on this ultra-smooth surface, and low to medium heat is recommended, along with non-metal utensils. The piece is oven-safe to 500 degrees F and should be washed only by hand. Cuisinart covers this pan with a lifetime limited warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

I do like the handles and the lid, but after one use the pan warped horribly and now rocks on our glass top stove. It won't cook evenly and is a huge pain to use.
We had much better luck with a Simply Calphalon pan that is no longer available here. I'm not sure what it is called, but the Calphalon pan we had previously had a thick, flat bottom that looked like a separate piece. Really nice and perfect for our stove.
It heated and cooked evenly, the bottom was flat, food did not stick at all, and it cleaned up extremely easily. (Some foods did occasionally stick to the rivets, but the rivets were not that hard to clean.) I never put it in the dishwasher, I used only wood, plastic, or silicone utensils, and never cooked on high heat.
In the past few months I began to notice that food was sticking to the pan a little, but at first it was not a major problem. However in the last two weeks the sticking has become much worse, and now almost *everything* sticks, no matter how I oil the pan. At this point it actually sticks much worse than a regular (not non-stick) pan, so it is unusable for many foods.
Six years is longer than any of my other non-stick pans have lasted me, so I am still giving the pan a good rating. But the pan is advertised with a "limited lifetime warranty." I could send the pan in to try to get a replacement under the warranty, but the cost of shipping both ways would be nearly as much as a new pan.
One other thing I should mention: If you like to hang and display your pans, this is NOT the pan to get. After the first few uses the exterior showed lots of fine scratches - presumably from the burner on my electric stove. Within a few months the bottom exterior also discolored, and I never found a way to clean it. (Neither the scratches or the discoloration affected the usability of the pan at all.) Since my pan is stored in a cabinet, this was not a problem for me. But if were storing the pan in the open, its scratched and discolored exterior would have bothered me.
Other notes: the packaging says to not use the pan on high heat. The aluminum core heats up quickly and works best on med/high heat max.
The non-stick finish really is NON STICK, although I do use a small amount of butter or oil while cooking for flavor. Washed up beautifully (by hand, not dishwasher). 12 inch diameter is large enough for 12-15 egg recipes. Great quality; highly recommend.
I do hope some marketing/development manager at Cuisinart sees this review and makes a change for that label adhesive... why not just a piece of paper placed inside the pan, with no adhesive on it, to describe the non-stick interior? If I purchase any other Cuisinart cookware, and I was considering doing so, and I open the box to see a label stuck on the cooking interior surface - it's going right back in the box and will be returned.
