Meanwhile, if you make thick sauces with cream or sweeteners or butter, the gentle even heating and tightly fitted lid will make you smile. I make a scratch BBQ sauce featuring caramelized, minced onion, sorghum syrup and red pepper that will make enemies forgive and forget. This pan is the perfect batch size to serve 6 or 8 people a great sauce. The whole line of Cuisinart sauce pans are a steal.
Thin metal, IT IS NOT 18/10 stainless steel as written on site, the box nor the actual pot has 18/10 etched on it therefore it IS NOT. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!
After having used this saucepan for many months now, the lid getting hot has become a real deal breaker for me. I have Fisler pots too, and their lids are cool to the touch.
Handle doesn't get hot but the lid one could (handle arch angle is slightly too close to the lid) pretty easily. I had an old lid with plastic cover so problem solved.
I'm writing this 2nd one because I have a 2 quart for another type, cuisinart 719-18 chef classic, and it doesn't work as well as 719-14. The 2 quart I got is not the same mode, even though Amazon keeps labelling it the same, and it seems to have been reduced an obvious amount of stainless on the "wall" and handle. Even though the handle still stays cool and bottom remain relatively thick, the "wall" is very thin, which makes me doubt how long it's gonna last.
It's quite disappointing, but still not crazy expensive. I was expecting Cuisinart and good reviews to help me choose a better quality cookware but this one just doesn't do the work well enough.
