Top customer reviews
As soon as it came in I washed it for the first time expecting to use it that night. After washing I noticed a slight sloshing sound and sure enough, the encapsulated bottom had taken on water. Letting it sit at an angle upside down allowed it to dribble out the sides of the bottom, and I'm sure had I cooked with it, it would have heated up and boiled the water out of that bottom, but I took a pass at the chance to dribble water out onto a gas flame.
Return process was great, and easy.
I have other inexpensive SS cookware from Winco (3 pieces) that have been great for 5 years. I assumed the Cuisinart would have been about the same quality but a few extra $$ for the name but not quite so. It was more $$, but not the quality.
The lid does *not* give a tight seal, but with the lip, I didn't expect it to. The strainer holes in edge of the lid (two different sizes, on opposite sides of the lid) are really handy too!
All in all a wonderful pot, at a great price considering the quality and that it's Cuisinart (at least, as of the time of this writing, when it's listed for $37).
