I've had this 3-quart model for about a year. The Classic Stainless series uses a kind of aluminum-core diffuser disk on the bottom of the pan (you can see where they connect at the bottom of the product photo), and though I didn't notice this when I purchased in July 2015, the pan itself seemed high quality and I used it quite happily until now. I had burned something onto the bottom of the pot and was using a scouring pad vigorously, and noticed that one spot wasn't coming off. That was because I had WORN THROUGH THE STAINLESS STEEL into the metal underneath it. I'm not sure it is the aluminum core, but it is a bit disappointing. So if you have one of the Classic Stainless series, you might want to be careful about scrubbing it vigorously, and perhaps stick to copper scouring pads or something less abrasive.

I'm going to purchase the pot I originally had wanted to get, the Cuisinart MultiClad Pro Stainless 4-qt. It is slightly more expensive than the Classic Stainless version (right now it's around $48, but I've seen it at $59 too), but is still over a hundred dollars less than the equivalent All-Clad.

UPDATE 1/31/2017: I added some pictures taken with an iPhone SE and a Canon 100mm macro to show the largest pit. You can see that I had burned the bottom of the pan and it had discolored, so I'm not sure if this weakened the bottom cladding so it would scour away.
