Destroyed in a year, but still buying a new one.

I bought this item exactly a year ago and used it once every week (in the right in the photo). So it was used 50+ times. I never used anything but silicone or plastic spatule on it. (You can see a thin line in the middle where my husband once accidentally cut it with a knife). You can compare a brand new one I got today to the old one. There is definitely significant amount of wear, and the top layer completely wore off around the edges, allowing rust to show. I am not sure if this is expected or not. In any case I got a new one, which I assume I will be throwing away in a year. I wonder what Lifetime Warranty, mentioned on the package, means..

I purchased this in September and have probably used it 10 times. It was the price was great, it was heavy and non-stick surface wonderful. That changed last month, when I noticed spots inside on bottom. I've included pictures, and needless to say, the non-stick surface is no longer wonderful :( I guess you get what you pay for.
