Two powerful kitchen appliances have been brought together in this blender/food processor by Cuisinart. The heavy-duty motor base is up to both blending and processing tasks, and won't "walk" on the counter, even when it's crushing ice. Use the blender with its dripless pour spout to make and serve 40 ounces of frozen drinks or to purée baby foods or soups; use the processor to prep up to 3 cups of vegetables, cheeses, nuts, and meats. With one motor base, it's simple to keep the blender out on the counter and then bring out the processor attachment for special tasks.

This is an amazingly sturdy product, with tight-fitting lids, a heavy glass blender jar, and a motor that chops meat or ice with equal aplomb. Most attachments are dishwasher-safe, and the flat touch pad, which has seven settings (including ice crush and pulse), is easily wiped down with a sponge. Worst product and service ever!!!!!

I bought this product for my daughter as part of her wedding present. The item worked fine for three months and then broke. Amazon declined all responsibility and referred her to the manufacturer. The product was sent to them and returned a total f THREE times and each time worked for two days and stopped working again. I don’t advice purchase from this manufacturer since they don’t even honor the two-year guarantee. This was purchased in January 2018. My daughter is tired of sending it back and forth with no results. Totally unacceptable.

Quality product name, but short product longevity for price paid($80+)

This $80.00 item was no improvement over the previous iteration I purchased 5 years ago. I used it a lot but the motor died. When the new one arrived and I looked at the similarity to the old one, I immediately sent it back. This item also recently had a recall on the processor blade that can break off into food products. Hope they fix that soon.
In addition to the short life of the previous unit, the company rep would not tell me if the replacement parts would be available for the old unit; they did however assure me that I would be paying shipping both ways, labor and parts for the repair and that if repair was not possible, I would not be receiving any relief on the price of a new unit. I thought for the $80 price of the item I should be able to expect more than 5 years use from it.

Food processor attachment is garbage, blender is mediocre.

I have had this item for a few years. I use it rarely, only a few times a year but I would like to note that every single time I have used the food processor part, something on it has broken, the bowl has cracked, the plunger cracked, the locking clip cracked and fell off, the blade cracked. Oh sure it still works if I hold the locking clop down and don't move the plunger. But the processor bowl is a piece of garbage. I have simply never had a kitchen appliance that was made of materials as fragile as this. My coffee carafe can handle more. It is garbage.

The blender function works fine, it has not broken however the shape of the pitcher, made to accommodate the duet feature, is too wide at the bottom leaving corners that don't get blended. So I would rate this thing as a 1 star- it is a horrid food processor and a mediocre blender all in one.

I would give this piece zero stars but it's not an option. I read the reviews and talked myself out of my gut feeling because of the brand name. This is a total piece. Worked for 3 seconds and died. DIED!! Returned...don't buy this. Save yourself a headache.

I owned this model for 9 years and the motor finally died. We decided to replace it with a Ninja and were extremely disappointed. I've now repurchased this model. Nice and small, reliable and purees to a nice smooth consistency, unlike the Ninja that left our stuff chunky.

Ordered this due to the price and the reviews from previous buyers. The unit they sent will not sit on gears in base or even on a flat surface. Not to beat up the seller, they are just trying to get their rebuilt products out, anytime you order a rebuilt product, its a gamble and I get that. I am returning product but will still consider them when making a purchase since I understand its a gamble, if it went the other way I would have been a bragging about my savings!

We were in the market for a new blender, but once we saw this product with a larger food processor that would be convenient, we were sold. The product is well made and relatively easy to clean. When we first received it, my wife took everything apart and washed the parts in the dish washer. When we first used the product, it was somewhat difficult to get all the parts back together properly. I'd suggest doing the blender and food processor separately to avoid having to figure out what goes where. The product performs as advertised. Like that the electrical cord can be shortened easily (stows in base). We are very happy thus far. Little concerned with some of the other reviews that state that the link between the motor base and the blender is weak, but this product has been on the market for 5+ years and I think this area has been made more durable.

Lasted Forever!

I have the white version of this item for 7 years! I received it as a wedding gift. Yes it is very loud, but it's the first item like this I've ever owned, so I didn't have much to compare it to. But it's easy to clean, works fantastically, and has nice design. It has worked great until about a month ago when a friend was using the food processor at a party, to chop something. We heard this awful grinding noise and smoke started coming out! The black part between the base and the attachment shattered and melted all over the place.

I am not so disappointed, as I got 7 years out of this appliance, but it seems most people experience this problem much sooner.
