My friend's mom has this set and I knew I wanted my own the second I used hers. The main chef's knife is heavy, balanced, and comfortable, as are the the Santoku knife and the slicing knife. They come extremely sharp out of the box, and the grind tells me that future whetstone sharpenings will be a breeze. My only complaint about this set is that the shears and the steak knives feel cheap. Wish they would have used the same full tang construction for the steak knives that they used for the rest of the set.

The knives that matter are well-made. I'd pay $80 just for the three I mentioned in the first paragraph. Don't hesitate. Buy this set.
