After browsing thru many models and reading reviews, I finally decided on this 7 speed mixer. I was happy to get the Cuisinart Breast Cancer pink, since I am a survivor.
The first time I used it, I could hardly believe the power it has. I only took it up to the 3rd power level and it mixed very thick cookie dough. It made my holiday baking a breeze. There are so many things I used to have to mix by hand, but not now. The Power Select mixer handled everything with ease and I still have yet to use power level 7.
If you are looking for a heavy duty hand mixer that is fairly lightweight and has very easy to clean beaters, this is the mixer to buy.
I love the slow speeds, they are very handy.
Hopefully it stays this good!
I have to comment that the new attachments are more effective in their purpose but they certainly don't hold enough of the icing or whip cream for the kids to lick. Isn't that what we all waited for when our Mothers made a desert.
Now to the reason I'm considering returning it is that the beaters don't stay attached, they fly off and that is dangerous. Each beater has a different fitting. One will usually stay secure, but the other one has to be re-entered at least four times and even then I turn it on and test it before I put it in the mixture. What have you heard from others?
Only thing... when the mixer is first turned on there is like a little surge of power, then it quickly slows down to as it should be at 1st speed.
Haven't needed to use all speeds yet, it whipped whipping cream fast and beautifully without having to run it full speed.
The color is so darn cute! Everyone whos sees it says something about 'you have a PINK mixer?'!!
I use it twice a day. My previous hand mixer was a Cusinart (may he rest in peace) though it was a 3 speed. This one has a wonderful slow start feature, easy to read digital display, powerfully different speeds, and is exactly what I wanted.
I've made 2 dozen biscuits, 64 cupcakes, a layer cake, gravy, frosting, 2 loaves of bread, mashed potatoes, chowder, and hot chocolate (it was cold at the time, I just hate waiting for the powder to settle) in one day with this and I loved every moment as it drowned out my sister's yapping by keeping me busy before everyone got drunk enough to tolerate each other (aka Thanksgiving).
I hate the color as I associate pink with my Mother In Law who has princess complex syndrome but it's really quite beautiful in person. It might change me into a pink girl. I did name it Pinky (so original!) but it was after the finger, not the color, as this mixer does truly have me wrapped it's pinky.
I am quite pleased with this purchase and happy that I went with a more expensive model then the one I was looking at. This truly is my favourite mixer. In fact, I've missed it so much while writing this review I'm going to go make a Swiss Roll Cake with it right now.

I REALLY want to like this ... and kind of do.
Pros: weight is good; works well at higher speeds; like using instead of hauling out my huge KitchenAid
Cons: This is a BIG... Read more
I didn't buy mine on Amazon, but here is my review. After using my reliable, but under powered Kitchen Aid 5 speed for the last 10 years, I thought I would get a more powerful... Read morePublished 2 months ago by DAN F.
Worked great until it didn't do anything today when I plugged it in. It has not been abused at all or submerged in the sink etc... Kept in a kitchen cabinet between uses. Read morePublished 3 months ago by bob
This thing is really powereful but also has the desired slow start. Stainless steel beaters are great. Read morePublished 3 months ago by Follow Jesus
The price was right and it gets the job done. Just one thing that I don't like. The mixer starts with a quick blast and then slows to the intended speed. Read morePublished 4 months ago by Bookworm426
