Operating the Hand Blender

This blade mixes and stirs while adding only a minimum of air to your mixture. A gentle up-and-down motion is all you need to make the most flavorful, full-bodied liquid recipes.
Cleaning
Always clean the Smart Stick motor body and blending shaft thoroughly after using.
Remove the blending shaft from the motor body. Clean the motor body only with a sponge or damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners which could scratch the surface. To clean the blending shaft, wash by hand in hot water using mild detergent, or in the dishwasher.

We purchased this blender to fix my 11 month old daughter her yogurt & fruit smoothies. After just 6 months of use, the blades shattered when blending bananas and yogurt (it was pretty scary finding pieces of blade in my daughters food!).
I contacted customer service and they acknowledged it was probably a defective unit but I would have to pay for shipping both ways, that's about 80% of the cost of a new blender.
Never again Cuisinart!

This was my second Cuisinart Smart stick. I had to replace the first one after five years when the plastic gears wore out.
The blade on the second unit snapped in half. Looked like it was starting to rust after two months. Cuisinart was willing to replace if I paid the $10 shipping charge for the new unit and another $10 in shipping to return the faulty unit. Really? $20 that's almost what I paid for the unit so how is that a warranty? Took my business elsewhere.
Cuisinart, your policy sucks like your products.
