I just wanted a sparkly new one. Have my old faithful if the new version isn't as well made.
This Cuisinart stick blender seems to overheat very quickly so I ended up alternating between this one and my old one. My old stick blender takes quite a bit of work before it actually starts feeling a bit warm to the touch, but this Cuisinart actually becomes hot to the touch pretty quickly. I do love the advances in technology for the detachable metal part, and the two speeds which I do not have on my old mixer, but I think quality is not as it used to be. My old stick blender is at least 20 plus years old and still kicking. I don't see this new one lasting even a quarter of that time.
