We are a family of 6 and this is a great size. Serve with a salad and dinner is complete.
As a tip, I used a spiralizer to make perfectly thin and even sized potato slices. This allowed the potatoes to cook evenly.
So back to making omelettes without it... just cook the egg until it is done enough to loosen it, lift up one end take it with your hand and flip it over... voila! So... yeah... But I still like these pans, and never would have "gotten it" without them... lol.
One curious point, the Cuisinart packaging indicated that there should be two glass covers included - which were not. (Prior to purchase I did not see glass covers mentioned on any site). Customer service informed me that covers are not needed, and pans were designed to work without them. I wish they would change their packaging and not mislead customers!
The company description says the finish lasts three to five years, but I've never had such luck with ANY non stick pan, have you? I use my pans at least once per day. I'm gentle with the cleaning, wiping with a soft cloth, and storing of my nonstick pans, but for me the longest the finish seem to last without sticking and using oil is about 2 years per pan.
This is an ideal size pan if you are downsizing portions or a senior household. It's easily maneuverable, without feeling like you are pressing weights. The handle is well riveted and doesn't get hot.
I never put my nonstick pans in the oven or dishwasher, nor did I ever make any acidic or wine based glazes or sauces. I use stainless steel skillets for that type of thing.
These are the best non-stick skillets I have ever had. They just don't stick - at all - if reasonable measures are taken pre-cooking to add some fat of some kind. Butter, margarine, oil, cooking spray, etc. No dry surface will tolerate direct application of heat to food without some sticking but with any of the just-named substances, it's not an issue.
Clean-up is usually just a wipe with a paper towel after it cools. Maybe once a month it becomes a little messy from dried cheese or eggs bits on non -non-stick parts & a 30 second soapy Dobie wipe might be useful. It's never been in the DW - hasn't needed it.
In my mind it's the only non-stick skillet to have, We use it for a general purpose skillet, not merely non-stick cooking. That's just a bonus.
