We received one of these for Christmas as a present from our children 4 years ago. We used it daily and probably brewed thousands of cups of coffee with it. Just recently, it began leaking, sputtering, and taking forever to brew a single cup of coffee. We tried everything online to fix it -- cleaning filters, descaling with vinegar, cleaning top needle hole out with paper clips, turning it upside down and "burping" it, turning it off to reset it, etc., etc. The frustrating thing was that the "Rinse" and "Hot Water" cycles ran fine. It just wouldn't work when you tried to make coffee. After taking it completely apart, in a last ditch effort to make it work, pieces were everywhere and I decided to buy a new 780 model. I'll let you know how that goes on the 780 model review site. However, while researching the 780, I came across reviews that indicated part of the problem when the machine leaks, sputters, and is slow to brew, is the K-Cups themselves. Sure enough, when we looked at our latest batch, all the tops were "poofed" out on top, indicating that they are under very high pressure. Wish I had known this before I dismantled mine beyond all repair. With the new 780, I am definitely going to punch a hole in the center top or bottom, where the needle will pierce it when it is in the machine, and make sure to rinse after every use. If I can get another 4 years out of this one, it will be well worth it. The ability to brew at high temperatures and different size cups, the number of varieties of coffee, tea, and other drinks available in K-Cups for varying tastes, no more coffee grounds in your cup, and no more left over coffee poured down the drain when you make pots in the old-style brewers, all are reasons we are sticking with Cuisinart Single Serve systems.

Set up was fast and easy. Works beautifully - so convenient to brew a single cup so quickly. Have tried Keurig brand machines and find this one to brew a superior cup (although as a general statement pre-packaged K-cups are never as delicious as fresh ground, this is probably as good as it gets -- and, it does come with a reusable K-cup filter if you want to go that route). Really pleased with the purchase -- the refurbished machine arrived in great condition (it looks like new). So happy that I decided to save a little money and opt for it over a new machine.

I have had two of these units, I bought the first one about 2yrs ago at a big box store. It only worked for about 4 months and then had to deal with Cuisinart customer service for warranty issues. Their customer service kept sending me parts to install, after the third time they sent parts I gave up and trashed the unit. Fast forward to a couple of months ago and I was needing a K-cup machine for my office. I really liked the design and features of the Cuisinart SS-700 so I thought I would give it another shot. I received the unit and everything looked fine. I set it up per the provided instructions and the dang thing would not work. After working on it for a couple of hours with Cuisinart customer service I gave up and have learned my lesson. I will NEVER buy another product made by Cuisinart, looks good functions poorly.

This item is listed as "Certified Refurbished". It is not. I recently purchased one from another vendor and it was also in poor condition. Prior to purchasing this unit I emailed the vendor questioning the listing as "new" and the vendor replied that it had not been used since it was Factory Refurbished. This second unit failed immediately after receipt and the failure mode is similar to how most Keurig machines fail; the valve in the water line deteriorates due to being used in a water application and when pressure is applied instead of the water being forced through the coffee into the cup it is forced back into the water reservoir via the little plastic elbow provided for this purpose so the water doesn't run all over the floor. This particular machine is in partial failure with approximately half the water making it into the cup and the other half returning to the reservoir. So on the 12 oz setting it makes about 6 oz of coffee. If this particular failure-prone valve was not replaced during the so-called factory refurbishment so I doubt it was really refurbished but simply put in a new box ans sold as "new". I'm surprised Amazon would participate in this sort of business practice. The vendor no doubt will request return for replacement at the purchaser's expense which will amount to more than half of the purchase price protecting the vendor against having many faulty units returned. When working this is an excellent coffee maker but with a short lifetime due to miss-application of an automotive air valve to water application by Keurig. You can read about this problem with Keurig coffee machines[[ASI in more detail elsewhere in other user reviews.

We've had this for over a year now, and we bought because of excellent reviews at the time. I see that has all changed. Ours is constantly clogged. Descale and it works OK a couple of days. Sometimes it won't dispense any water... just sits there and gurgles. I think there is something wrong with the pump on these things.
