There are many examples of transformative new ideas/technologies like air flight, refrigeration, electricity, artificial intelligence and robotic vision to name just a few. The book provides specific steps to arrive at a transformative idea. These steps include; such things as, selecting a significant problem to solve, scaling the solution to a generalized form for global application, resolving a neglected challenge and dealing with a survival need. Examples of survival technologies include the control of CO2 emissions, cleaning ocean debris and feeding millions with food which is vegetable based rather than meat/slaughtering.
"Cultivated Abundance: How We Can Build a Better Future through Transformative Technology Entrepreneurship" is a very important book for these times which emphasizes industrialization over preserving the earth and its resources for future generations. Most importantly, we need to have growing third world economies embrace solar energy and similar modalities aimed at cleaner air and water.
