There is no shortage of books in this world based on the general premise that, if we adjust or eliminate our bad attitudes, our quality of life will improve. In "Cultivating A Gospel-Shaped Attitude," Dr. Buchanan moves beyond feel-good rhetoric to focus instead on the source of a healthy attitude-- in a heart aligned with the desires and teachings of Christ."

There plenty of books that will help you to have a positive attitude, but most of them are missing what Joe Buchanan brings to the discussion-- how the gospel shapes our attitudes and in turn, our actions, to produce in us a Christlike character. My mind and heart are in a better place because of Cultivating a Gospel-Shaped Attitude, and yours will be too! Buy it, read it, and give a copy away!

From the Author
For the next several months, I immersed myself in studying and thinking about how the gospel is reflected in these words. Slowly, I began to see spiritual formation and discipleship in a new way. It occurred to me that I had been going about the ministry of discipleship in the wrong way. While the goal of having a Christlike character still remained a primary objective, it began to dawn on me that the road map to get there was different from what I had been preaching for nearly twenty years. Spiritual formation begins with a deep reflection upon the gospel, which in turn begins to cultivate a set of gospel-shaped attitudes that are then exhibited in Christ-honoring actions. Over time, these attitudes and actions shape what we would call a Christlike character.
This book is the product of a year's worth of reflection on each of these gospel-shaped attitudes. My hope is that you will discover the gospel on every page of this book and that these truths will penetrate into the depths of your soul to change the way you think, feel, and act.
