Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Very, VERY nice photographs, publishing, packaging. It's worth it if you have a thirst for Cunningham cars and history.

The volumes are medium large / heavy and appear to be of robust construction and quality paper, on par with David Bull publications. Volumes come in a good slipcase which fits into a cardboard suitcase, which was secured in a packing box, which in turn was all held in a Royal Mail sack (a first for me).
There are many B+W / color photos of various sizes. Many are snapshots from photo albums, so their quality varies from average to excellent.. An extensive index / appendixes of all the cars / drivers involved with Cunningham and the races they took part in, is in back of Vol 2. I look forward to reading the set as I know nothing at all of the Cunningham history but be forewarned, this set focuses on the cars he built / raced and collected. It's not about the man himself. Author states that creating this set took 7 years and he had complete access to the family archives.
These volumes are not picture books with double spread studio 'glamour' shots, nor are they a coffee table set. They are a serious 'reference' compilation, to be read and referred to over and over, with the accompanying photos as further clarification.
This may be premature but from what I've seen so far and based on my many other online book purchases, I would approximate that this set should sell for $150-200 tops (bearing in mind the quality and extra packaging), not the $338 CDN (plus shipping) I paid, and that's the lowest price I've ever seen. Thus the 4 star rating instead of 5, which may be upgraded after reading !
Appears that a lot of investigative work went into researching all of the hundreds of cars / dozens of drivers and the many races they took part in. From condensed history's of the cars and where they are today, to individual bios on each of the drivers.
P.S. After doing a quick read thru Vol I, based on the quality of data presented so far, must update my rating to 5 stars. The depth of research involved is astounding. Even if not a fan of Cunningham cars, I'd recommend this set as it also presents condensed company histories of all the cars Cunningham owned (for pleasure and racing). This encompasses the 'Golden Age' of sports car racing in the U.S. If you like vintage Porsche, Ferrari, Aston, Mercedes, Gordini, Osca, MG, Austin, Abarth, Alfa, Maserati, Jaguar, Bentley, Stanguellini, Elva, Lotus etc. you'll enjoy this set and the photos are mostly good to excellent. I highly recommend this set if you can afford the high price, it's for good reason it won the Book of the Year award. Beauty with the layout is that the chapters can be read piecemeal as individual mini-books as opposed to reading both volumes at once, back to back.
Chapters are.................
Vol I:
Cunningham racing History
Individual Cunningham car bios (C1-C6)
Bios on other cars raced by Cunningham (1912-54)
Vol II:
Bios on other cars raced by Cunningham (1955-72)
Other road cars owned by Cunningham
Continuation Cunningham C-4R's
Bios on Cunningham Team drivers
60 page appendix of race results / company docs etc.
