This author did a wonderful job of writing an example of a clean romance. I dare say it is what a parent would want their teenager to follow....save yourself for the right person. Even though I knew the two characters will find their HEA, I still wanted to know how this author would bring them together. Totally suitable for a quick clean romance fix!
I really liked Dave and Vanessa together. I liked both characters but there were times they both annoyed me. Vanessa not giving David enough credit for being a good guy and being patient oh so very patient. David knowing she was a little uncomfortable still kinda pushed her when he shouldn't have but I understand why he did. I think more than anything Vanessa needed the assurance he would stick around. They both spent a lot of time kinda comparing notes and I think that was wrong. You can never expect to get the same partner like you did before and allowances will have to be made. David is not like her husband and she was nothing like his wife. By the end it was enjoyable. Felt a little rushed with the party/wedding because Vanessa was so gun shy about everything. Its a novella so its expected to be a little different than a novel.
As workers go both Vanessa and David have learned to live with love and loss. Now each have done the dating scene and not found anything specisl. Friends have done the blind date fix up that didn't work. Giving it another chance their friends have surprised that again with a blind fix up but they meet at the door and figure it out.
David tells Vanessa to go along with him and he turns into the lousy, sleazy guy everyone dreads. Vanessa is playing along so that they stop fixing her up. In the meantime, David asks Vanessa out for Valentine's dinner so they can get to know one another and to show is is not a bad guy.
As things turn serious, fears and uncertainties become concerns for both until one fault that will take a hero to overcome. Now to find out what happens and the results you will have to read this fhn, fast read for yoyrself.
