I picked up the book today and was delighted to find myself falling into the story and the time period. It was a charming tale of a side story to Jane Austen's Persuasion, set a few years before the novel. It was filled with both disappointment and hopefulness as not all love stories have a happy ending. I am told there will be a couple additional tales out soon and I look forward to reading them.
I received this book as a prize during Indie Author's Appreciation Week.
I thought it would be a read with awkward language. If I swap out our cars, for their ships and
horse and buggies in my mind, it seems almost contemporary. I expected it to be long and boring,
but as a novella, it held my interest , mabe even enough to read it's future succesor.
