This is a great read. It would make an awesome gift for any Wild West fan in your life.
I was given a copy of the book for review purposes only. Positive review was not required.
The book, I love the characters, they are strong and well developed, the lead role is for a young man who went through much and is a professional gunslinger at young age, he doesn't see wrong with what he does, he falls for Theresa, her dad however forbids them seeing each other. She is convinced there is more to him then just a gun for hire. There is a lot of action in this book and a mild dose of religion results in a great book, especially for Western lovers.
M.R. Kayser has created a terrifically confused character in Arizona and it’s fascinating to discover just which way he will jump when push comes to shove, when some of those he rides with take their job a little too far in his eyes. Seen as being one of these killers Arizona’s relationship with Theresa is surely doomed as he is banned from seeing her by her father.
It’s not just Arizona’s problems that will make you keep reading this book, for both sides have a number of beautifully fleshed out, unforgettable, characters that will make you want to know what happens to them too.
There's plenty of action that doesn’t hold any punches to the horrors of violence, and an underlying Christian message that is subtle enough to be a natural part of the plotline making this is a tale that I think all western readers will enjoy.
The Arizona Kid had a very cold heart and he was an amazing sharpshooter. He'd helped clean up the town of Clinton's Change A's and is sent to Blue Stone where he's told they need someone like him to help rid the squatters that are on the land where they want to run a railway. Along the way he meets the people of Redbud, they welcome him and show him a kindness he has never known. What will happen when they find out he wants them off their land?
I'm not usually a lover of westerns, but the synopsis peaked my curiosity. There was nonstop action, and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I loved the budding romance between Arizona and Theresa. There is mention of Christianity but the way it was written wasn't overbearing or preachy. All in all this was a fantastic novel and I'm glad I got the chance to read it.
I wasn't sure what to expect going into this. I occasionally like to read outside of the genres I usually read - paranormal, contemporary, and sometimes sci-fi. I rarely read westerns unless they are romance but I decided to give this one a go because a good book is a good book and this one was that.
I used to sit around and watch westerns as a kid with my dad so I was excited to read this. Arizona was a complex character, he is a gun for hire who runs squatters off of land and even kills when he has to until he meets a group of squatters that changes his mind.
Teresa is confused by her feelings for the bad boy and wonders if Arizona can turn around. This book surprisingly had a Christian message that I wasn't suspecting but appreciated. I'm looking forward to reading more by this author.
