I'm an avid Current Affairs reader so I'm admittedly pretty biased, but this is a really great book! The essays are well written, well compiled, and unlike a lot of leftist literature, it's accessbile and not smug or preachy. I especially liked the essay about Hamilton The Musical. If you get it, I would recommend starting with that one.

This is a must-read for anybody who thinks of themselves as "on the left" politically, and it's also worth reading for people elsewhere on the spectrum since reading what the other side has to say is often valuable.
Even if you consider yourself a strong "liberal", there are essays in here which will attack your worldview from the left. There are takedowns of The West Wing (the show), Hamilton (the play), Huffington (the person and the empire), Obama, and more.

This is the best new magazine out there. Fearless, smart, and funny. Current Affairs punches left, right, and center without prejudice. When you read that rare periodical with zero ads, you realize how beholden even the most stalwart print outlets are to outside interests.

Just another left wing publication. Yawn.
