I am a quilter and I keep fabric on hand in my 'stash' for the different projects I work on. I recently saw a blog of another quilter who used these boards for her fabric storage and felt it would be a perfect solution for me as well. I have deep storage drawers and depending on how I folded my fabric I either couldn't see the bottom layer of my fabric, it would fall over, or it was difficult to get out. I bought a couple of packages of comic book boards to try and they worked so well for my purpose that I bought several more packages. The stiffness of these boards makes an excellent core to wrap my fabric around and pin, and the consistent width is a great guide for how wide to fold my fabric. I can then store my fabric in stacks or storage drawers without worrying about them falling over. The stiffness makes it easier to pull fabrics and put them away too. I know this is an unusual use for this product, but I highly recommend it for others seeking to store fabric!

Love these for my own personal fabric store. Bought a bookshelf and I'm slowly pulling my fabric out of boxes to fill all 5 shelves up with these! Sturdy enough for the job and a great size. I'm thinking of cutting them up for my smaller pieces too but they're perfect for everything a 1/2 yard and up.

Like the other reviewers I bought these after seeing them used as mini fabric bolts on Pinterest. My fabric had been stored in plastic totes and I was loosing track of what I had because they were all stacked up and hidden. These work wonderfully for wrapping fabric! I placed the board in the middle, with the long side parallel to the cut side and wrapped the middle fold and the selvedge together so they met in the middle, then rolled up my own mini bolts. So easy, it looks great and it helped me get organized.

My wife is an avid quilter who, like most quilters, is always struggling with how to organize her "fabric stash" so she can actually find something when she wants it--without destroying her sewing room in the process. She was always frustrated until a friend suggested trying comic boards to wrap the fabrics on allowing fabrics to be stored, stacked on end. Whether several yards or a quarter yard of fabric, these cards are just heavy enough to provide stability for stacking fabrics on end on a shelf, yet they are only about the thickness of a couple business cards, so they take up no space. Suddenly my wife's stash transformed from a hopeless tangle of fabrics piled on top of each other to looking like a quilt shop with fabrics stored neatly by color or whatever other classification. Before, when stacked on top of each other, if she could find the fabric she wanted (which was a huge if), she would have to try to pull it out of a large stack which usually resulted in a mess. That often meant buying new fabric rather than efficiently using her stash. Now, wrapped on a thin comic card for support, she can stack the fabrics on end, as if they were fabrics wrapped on a bolt card as they are at the quilt shop. You have to be a quilter to understand what a miraculous revelation this simple trick turned out to be. Several thousand comic cards later, my wife is in quilters' heaven when it comes to organizing her fabric stash because she can find fabrics she wants to use and access them easily without making a mess.

I bought two sets of these to organize my sewing fabric stash, and they work wonderfully. I had a fairly organized collection of fabric before, but the amount of ironing I needed to do to get the random wrinkles out before sewing was wearing me out. I am also limited on space for storing, and found that I was buying fabric that I already owned, or very close to what I already owned, because I couldn't see what I had. YouTube has great videos out there for how to fold your fabric onto the board depending on the length. I have fit everything from a fat quarter to 3 yards of fabric with no issue or compromise to the finished "mini bolt" uniformity. I have to double up the boards if I want to fold more than 3 yards- I have done up to five yards with two boards together. After folding all the fabric in my stash, I got so excited that I actually cataloged all of it by taking a photo with my phone and storing it in an app I bought so I have a digital photo database with me when I go to the fabric store that reminds me all of the fabric's details including what it's made of, where I bought it, what I paid, and how much I have. Sounds super nerdy, but it really renewed my excitement about sewing. I have also read blogs where women will store their vintage patterns on a comic book board, then in a comic book clear plastic bag and file it in an ikea storage box, which lends itself to cataloging your pattern stash in a database again.... I digress. Organization is great- and these boards help a lot.

Like the other reviewers, I bought these to get some control of my out of hand, unorganized explosion of fabric. They work great for large cuts of fabric, and now my fabric looks so pretty and organized on their little mini bolts!

Didn't work so well with fat quarters, though--I'll just keep those folded up with no boards.
