From the Author
Set in the quaint, yet shadowy town of Pioneer Falls, it's a story that takes me back to my Young Adult roots. If you loved the bittersweet romance of my book The Clearing or the mystery and fun of Never Cry Werewolf, you'll love Lily and her world.
And the best part is-- there are many more stories to come in Pioneer Falls. The third book launches in March 2018.

This is a great book to pick if you are stuck in a reading slump. It is a story that you can bing read and finish in one day, without feeling bored or tired of the events.
A Curse so dark is a paranormal romance YA novel that begins with Lily’s father going missing. When her father goes missing, she finds a letter from him that implies crazy, illogical things. The more she searches for her father, the more she realizes that the content of that letter isn’t a work of fiction, but a dangerous reality. But how can she explain this to her sisters without sounding like a lunatic, and should she trust the people who claim to be her friends? You will have to read the book to figure this out.
One of my favorite things about this novel is the character credibility. The author did a brilliant job of portraying Lily’s wavering emotions and priorities. She isn’t a blind sheep in love who will believe anything without questioning the turn of events.
The only thing that didn’t sit well with me was how Lily was able to identify a specific person in their wolf form by looking into their eyes. It didn’t sit well with me because that wasn’t a family member or a friend; it was someone that she met once or twice. However, I loved the fact that she was able to look into the eyes of a beast, and recognize the people she truly knew.
This reminded me of an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (MY FAVORITE TV SHOW) when Giles was transformed into an animal. Buffy was able to recognize Giles by looking into his eyes. But Riley, her new boyfriend, wasn’t able to realize that Faith was in Buffy’s body.
I really enjoyed A Curse so Dark. It has been a while since I have read a paranormal story, and Heather Davis satisfied my lust for paranormal with this book. I can’t wait to read the sequel, which comes out in less than a week.
People are comparing this book to CC Hunters’ ( Shadow Falls ) series, but I personally believe that A Curse so Dark is so much better.
I received an eARC in exchange with an honest review.
