This was a pretty good story. I liked Amanda and Russ and while the story was short, I enjoyed it.
Amanda is a Veterinary doctor that works for the CDC in Atlanta. She's a BBW and has had enough people look down on her for her shape that she sees her body as a disadvantage. Sense she doesn't have much luck in personal relationships she tends to hide herself away in a lab and concentrates on her work.
Russ used to be an oil tycoon but he was dissatisfied with his life and job. He left that life and bought a horse breading farm, finding it a much better fit for him. He wants to find the right woman to settle down with now that he's found the life he wants.
Amanda is sent to Wyoming to consult on a horse farm. She loves horses and that's where she's concentrated her work so she's one of the best. Unfortunately, she's more of a city girl and isn't very comfortable away from Starbucks and wifi. When she gets to the ranch she meets Russ. He's a hunk of a man that has her fantasies running wild but she's sure that any interest from him is just imagines on her part. That ends up not being true and as they spend some time out "on the range" to help a sick horse and things happen between them that prove Russ is definitely into her. While the story is short, we do get a good start and then an epilogue that shows Amanda and Russ getting a HEA together.
This was a pretty enjoyable story. TBH, I was vacillating between 3 and 4 stars for this but I really liked Amanda and Russ and the chemistry between them so I went with 4 stars. I do wish it had been a bit longer but the epilogue made s nice ending and since it was a freebie it was a very nice treat. :D
The characters were fantastic. Due to Amanda's concern about her size, she doesn't go out much so that she doesn't have to be disappointed in going home alone. Russ was a pleasant surprise. I expected him to be arrogant and domineering but he was a very sweet man.
The title had me thinking I wouldn't like it - The Curvy Vet and the Billionaire Cowboy (He Wanted Me Pregnant!). The part in brackets made me wonder about it. Turned out I loved this nice quick read! I found the last couple of chapters surprising with a great ending. The only negative thing about this book was that it ended.
I will definitely be reading more by this author and highly recommend this book.
This books is a delicious chunk of smexy. Yay gotta love an Alpha cowboy! Although the whole I want to make you pregnant after only knowing you a day, is a lot to take in.
Amanda, an equine vet from Atlanta is sent out to Wyoming to help the oil tycoon billionaire turned cowboy, Russ. As with all of Victoria Wessex's characters in this series, they were developed incredibly well for the short length of the book and so easy to fall in love with and relate to. There was a lot of depth to Amanda's character as she struggled with her inner demons. She was strong and brave and I loved her so much. Russ was super delicious and fun and a down-to-earth guy that I enjoyed getting to know. There was just enough excitement, swoon-worthy moments, and enough sizzling, explosive chemistry to ignite the pages and melt any e-reader within a hundred mile radius!
Their love and Russ's pursuit of Amanda was, admittedly, rushed, but that's to be expected in a novella this size. I still thought it was so, so good, and I had no problem going along with it. It was incredibly enjoyable.
These books are so engaging and so fantastic. I am completely, totally, unabashedly addicted them and I can't wait for Victoria to make more! They're absolutely perfect, from the realistic dialogue to the wonderful characters to the scorching sex to the short and sweet epilogues that don't drag things out for ages. This is like eating the most delicious cherry creme pie after an eternity of stale rice cakes. You'll savor every second of it down to the very last bite!
